Sculpted at a feverish pace in an artistic fit of nightmare induced creativity, The Horror in Clay is a recreation of the bas-relief crafted by Henry A. Wilcox in the classic H.P. Lovecraft tale, “The Call of Cthulhu”. Available in a limited run of 100 resin casts, Cryptocurium is proud to offer this story accurate recreation of Wilcox’s horrific creation. The design features great Cthulhu, among the non-euclidean masonry of R’lyeh, grasping at the viewer. The frightful scene is framed with the alien hieroglyphs described in the story which read, “In his house at R’lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.” Each “Horror in Clay” is hand-cast in solid resin and comes mounted in a red velvet lined black shadow box with a museum stye catalog tag from Miskatonic University. One of your most impressive sculpts yet. I believe it is the finest interpretations of the way Wilcox's sculpt is described. The resin statue looks exactly like clay.
I find that the presentation (in a velvet-lined shadow box) is stunning and eerie. The depiction of Dead Cthulhu in R'lyeh reaching out at the person who is looking at, in a shadow box, with red velvet, and a catalog tag, showcases your stunning talent with art.
I wish I had the money to purchase this piece. However, we already had our agreement with the amazing "Witch House" props. And although I can't get it, Easter has brought some very queer things before...
