Description
This is another '1 Minute Later' cover commission, this time, imagining 'what happens next' in the original scene to The Defenders #9. link: [link]Here we have Hawkeye and the Defenders turning the tables on ol' Shellhead after he had been questioned about his loyalty to the Avengers. Well, as it turns out, Hawkeye had switched teams, and now his new teammates the Defenders have moved in to cement that notion into Tony's skull, one way or another!
On this one, the client opted to drop in the title block and logo on his end, so space was left at the top to do so. With what space was left, I decided to go for subject placement in depth (foreground, midground, background) to create a bit of interest.
Central to the plot point, is Hawkeye and Iron Man, so symbolically, it made sense to place the tip of Hawkeye's arrow, close to the chest pieceof Iron Man at the very center of the composition, then work everything off of that.
Another note, Hulk here is more of the 'old school' green goliath, something the client and I discussed - it was fun rummaging through some old comics to get his look heading in that direction.

Great art. Really great drawing. Also, holy damn, old school Iron Man armor was that strong so both Hulk and Namor had to hold him))))

Great artwork. God has blessed you with some awesome talent. The fact that Hawkeye is one of my favorite characters doesnt hurt.

Yes, HE has, and I don't take that lightly. It's humbling to have this talent...and then have the responsibilty to find out how to use it best.

Brilliant work my friend. I really like the inks here, Hawkeye has always been a personal fave. The action between Iron Man and Namor is great, I really feel the tension there. REALLY enjoyable.

I've always loved Hawkeye too - one of my first comics was a great Avengers story where Hawkeye saves the day vs. the Collector! (we're talkin' '70's here folks)
