I guess I'm gonna have to say that this one is my favorite, though it was hard to choose!! I love carving pumkins! Are you going to do it this year? And how do you start out? Do you draw the design on paper first then draw/map it out on the pumpkin, then skulpt? Or do you just wing it?

Some times I have a general idea what I want to create, but I never know what it is going to be until I'm done. I am definitely going to do more this year.Usually what I do is I ask friends and co-workers if they want me to sculpt one for them. Then they bring in a pumpkin, I get to have fun sculpting and get pictures taken, then they take it home.

That's very nice of you! But I gues it's not work if it's fun, right? Lol. Do you ever get paid?

No. I don't ask for money. It started because I love sculpting pumpkins, but it gets expensive after the first few. This way I get my fun and pay for the pumpkin and get to have a really unique jack-o-lantern.

I figured it was all for fun. And yeah, I bet it get's expensive! I usually only get to carve two..
But I look forward to this year! It's been a few years actually, since I got to carve any. I must say, You've inspired me!!

Unfortunately it is a fleeting medium. Just take a lot of pictures.

Lots of pictures is actually one of my quirks.. Lol. Sometimes I take too many and end up with like... 50 pictures of just one subject..

That's they way professional do it. They take a hundred shots and only show of one or two that are extra special.

There is nothing wrong with that. Keep it up. Watch and learn. If I can help let me know. I always want to encourage young talent.

It's a pumpkin, but I intentionally looked for the oddest shaped one I could find. Surprisingly though pumpkins and apples have much the same consistancy when it come to sculpting.
