The one DC guy that even hardcore Marvel fans love, because to quote one marvel guy "He's the most like a Marvel character."Uh... okay!
I think the big appeal about Batman is he's the one hero anyone could be if they were smart enough and worked hard enough at it.

Yeah, anyone could be Batman if they really worked at it...and were willing to go through life with the trainload of spiritual and psychological trauma that Bruce Wayne will carry to his grave.
Batsie's exemplar of the limits of the human potential is indeed inspiring, and not entirely unattainable, but the fundamental reasons why he works in the dark should not be sought by sensible folk.
