Marc and Elna have had an ever-evolving relationship when they first meet in the school year Elna was dismissive to Marc even somewhat cruel, though on several patrols Elna would see more and more of Marc's heroic side while Marc admired her inherit confidence.

By the second year, they were firm friends, being able to see when something bothered the other one, plus they became quite a formidable team when up against a threat, but before the second year ended Elna began to have feelings towards Marc which she had not had towards anyone before.

By the third year the two were incredibly close with a powerful bound but one day Marc ended up nearly getting himself killed when protecting Class 1-A and 1-B against a group of villains out for Marc's head. Even though Marc won the fight he sustained several injuries which almost cost him both his hero career and his life, when he was fully recovered he found out that Elna was intentionally avoiding him.

Confused Marc eventually requested for the two of them to go on patrol alone so he could find out what was bothering her.

Elna lashed out telling Marc that she can't just keep watching him almost die over and over again and in a moment of passion revealed her true feelings for him.
