While this is excellent work I can see room for some improvements. I have a special reference board on Pinterest about Sam&Max - www.pinterest.ru/SamAndMaxFanb⦠I really suggest you look it up and compare the anatomy. Sam&Max characters are just very tricky to nail.
Sorry if this review seems harsh but I can only find flaws(I hope you'll learn from them and take with a grain of salt):
- Eyes look very weird even if they're supposed to mimic poor stitching (although the texture looks too clean to be considered poor quality)
- Pink ear(left) part doesn't correspond to the orientation of the whole ear
-As I said, there's no texture making this look *too* clean, even the seams are too clean. If this is supposed to be a plush toy it HAS to have some texture to mimic the fabric.
- Too little shading. If you're going to animate this, then this is good. But it's a still image, this can use some shades.

well, you see, Max's original design is a 2d character in a comic/tv, then it got transferred into 3d as a character of TTG/this plushie/upcoming action figures and then you're transferring it back to 2d. You have to take into account that 3d designs were very different, inconsistent and don't resemble the true nature of the original design.
That said, you(OG artist) better try to think of it as a 2d design when drawing a flat image, and don't try to think of Max(or any cartoon/comic character) as a real-life object(because that's simply not true). EVEN if you try to draw an irl plushie toy you're still not designing an irl plushie toy, you're drawing it, projecting onto a flat piece of paper/monitor
