• Painter 11 + Wacom Tablet (entire one layer painting).
• Time taken: I can't honestly remember, but I watched the sun rise and set a lot.
• Original size: 1600 x 14500px
• This artwork is a gift back to the awesome Shaelyn FaeOfDoom - who sent me a surprise gift of A Link Between Worlds so that I could finally play it! Thank you so much!
Some of you might have remembered me making the huge Skyward Sword art piece a few years back. Well, I've done it again with A Link Between Worlds! I think this is almost a tradition from me from now on.
A Link Between Worlds is a fantastic game. Absolutely fantastic. If you own a 3DS, I recommend you get this game. It really brings back that "feel" of what a Zelda game should be - loads of areas to explore, absolutely beautiful music, unforgettable characters, your own choices to make and not much of a linearity.
I made this artwork while playing the game again and pin-pointing out the main events - which was a bit difficult at times since I really wanted to progress with the game and just drop the artwork, but I wanted this art piece to be completed, despite it being a mammoth task.
Not everything is in this artwork. Just the main events that I thought were most important to me and the game. Plus, the dungeons were drawn in the order that I personally went through the first time.
I've really been wanting to finish this before I head off to E3 2014 at LA this year! Exciting things are happening at Nintendo! See you all there!

Thanks for looking, and thank you for all of the support so far!

So... this has been lying in my inbox for some day now. I told myself I had to do like a proper message because this.... this... wow.
Firstly, you are a goddess at clouds. Secondely, you are a goddess at textures. Lastly, this is way too good to be true.
I was wondering how you were going to lay this out. Contrarily to the SS poster, you did actually draw some scenes from the game, and quite a lot in fact, whereas in the SS one you only presented the characters and the temples. So in this one, someone who hasn't played the game will sorta get the story and will understand more or less what's going on. And that's good
I have to tell you again, but your clouds are amazing. I'm in love with the atmosphere of the chamber of sages (and those pillar things, so pretty aaaargh!!!!). The contrast between the colours of the Lorule and Hyrule is really well done, and I love the transition between both, with the Triforces being kinda in the middle of the poster. Zelda's perfect here, love how her hair becomes the smoke/clouds, and Hilda's really good as well, but something seems a bit off... Maybe I imagined her more pretty, but then maybe you made it on purpose.
How you laid out the Lorule temples is great! At first I wasn't sure there was all of them, but then I counted and all 7 were there
But my favourite part of the whole poster? It's definitely the last battle. The expression on Hilda's face when she reveals her true motives is pretty self explanatory, but Ravio... Ravio here is perfect. It's by far my favourite scene of the game and you portrayed it brillantly. The end of the poster is draw more simply, and I think that's great. I also love how you ended it with Hyrule Castle's painting, liking it all back to the beginning and to ALltP.
The only thing that needs revision is Link's body, when he's standing next to Ravio at the beginning of the poster. If he had been standing alone with Ravio it would have been good, but since right next to them are standing the old man and the postman (...which I kinda had forgotten was in the game....), and since you made them of the same height, Link's proportions look really off. Ravio's okay though, since you only see his robe. I think you should have made them smaller/shorter to fix this problem, since after all they're kids.
Despite that small detail, this thing here is still a bloody masterpiece. You really never seize to amaze me.
And have a wonderful time at E3 and be sure to tell us all about it! (I still hate you for going there btw )
Btw, what was your favorite Lorule temple? Mine was definitely the Dark Palace

Ahhh... Thank you thank you thank you for the comment! I really appreciate your time writing this and it makes me learn!
I have to admit that there are quite a number of things that need revision in the artwork, most - if not all of what you've written. But alas I was running out of time as I had to head off to LA the next day after I submitted it. So I had to stick to what was there.
But at the same time I'm glad you love it!
As for my favourite Lorule Temple, I would have to say the Dark Palace as well. The atmosphere within the dungeon just dominates the others.

Don't worry yourself, what you did is already fantastic And I read everything about your E3 experience, so of course it's more than natural
What I loved most about the Dark Palace was the concept, how you could actually see in the dark and how you could not see the walls with the light. It kinda blew my mind, really.

Yay awesome! !
And I totally agree! I also loved the concept of the ice dungeon where it was high above an active volcano. And the music was beautiful. I think ALBW had one of the best Zelda soundtracks in a good while.

I couldn't agree more. My face when I reached the last part of Lorule Castle where they add the choirs... My god. I have never heard something so epic coming from a Zelda soundtrack. Even the temple musics were great! I'm not a fan of temple musics most of the time because they're kinda creepy, but here the Sanctuary, the Swamp Palace, The Desert Temple and Turtle rock ended up in my ipod

Ah jeepers, how much time did this take? ...And willpower....and patience....and layers. o.e Seriously though, this is sick as hell. As beautiful as the piece is overall, there's something comical about the poses that Link and Zelda take on when under the Triforce toward the end. I don't know why, it just reminds me of the classic "Link is opening the chest" pose, or something of the sort. *dun dun dun DUUUUN*
Really though, great job. You definitely caught everything I deemed important; well, I think you might have omitted Mother Maiamai, but details details; all she really did was upgrade items, so whatever. Like I said though, this was definitely awesome. The colours and textures all blend very well, and the scenes flow, but not too fluidly, which I think is a good thing. Drawing the dungeons out in the way that you did really reflects the choice that the player had when going through the game I believe, especially with the Lorule dungeons. I really loved that aspect of the game because it gave the game a less-linear feel to it, and it was pretty refreshing in my opinion.

I can't remember how long it took me, but I did watch the sun rise and set a lot xD
And I was going to add in Mother Maiamai, but I was running out of time, so I had to stick to the original plan of what I sketched up.
But holy crap, thank you for yet again another detailed comment. You're probably sick of hearing this already, but I really love reading your stuff

I have to admit that, even though I was not among the old school Zelda crowd, I REALLY enjoyed "Link Between Worlds". I may even have to go back and play some of them again.
This piece of work brought me right back to the adventure I went on in that game. If a piece of fan artwork can bring back the joy of an adventure, then it pleases a fan all the more.
