This was originally going to be some sort of dragon valley, but then I played a few hours of Okami the the day, and decided to change it to just that.

Holy sassafras, Batman, I really love this picture; not that I don't love all of your pictures [seriously, each one has its own charm to it, and it's amazing.]. I mean, the contrast between the fertile part of the canyon and the wasteland is sort of breathtaking, and the shadow placement is really great. I'm sure you knew that already, but it's always nice to remind someone. x3 Was this done in one layer or more than one? I have to ask, because it seems that you do that sort of thing a lot, and I find it impressive. I mean, with something like that, is it hard to fix mistakes, since erasing it would probably make it look tacky, or do you just go over mistakes? I suppose just dealing with one layer could be easier though, since dealing with tens of layers is a pain, especially if you don't know the program. Seriously, I've decided to take a class on Photoshop in the fall at my Highschool. xD
Hey, what system would you recommend one to get this on? I was looking through Gamestop, and I saw Okami for three or so different platforms...or is Okamiden even the same thing as Okami? ...Nevermind, I think it's the sequel....sort of....maybe?

This was done on 3 layers in total. The background, foreground, then Okami and all the detailing.
I definitelyΒ recommend playing Okami on the Wii since the brushstrokes are easier to control, but they've made a HD game of Okami on the PS3 only. So you should get that to get the max out of the game.
Okamiden is a sequel to Okami. Not as good in my opinion, but still pretty good for a DS game. (:

Divine Intervention! Oh, this is such a great drawing! The flames on Amaterasu and the green grass in the land. The trees are also very beautiful and the slightly faded mountains are just gorgeous!

I always love your scenic pictures - they're my favorite of all the kinds of paintings that you do. Perhaps my favorite aspect is just how expansive you make the scenes, and often enough spanning more than one kind of terrain. You also manage to instill feelings of awe while taking my breath away.
