This is just a personal speed painting insight on Link during his adventures. Having the responsibilities of the world on one's shoulder alone is enough to send anyone to spiral into some heavy negative feelings.
This is perhaps a side of him that Nintendo doesn't want us to see, eh?

Wow, this is great, I love the mood you have created with this piece, a little sad and serious, but I think this is shows Link in a much more realistic way than he is presented in the Zelda games. Great use of colours

I'm sure he'd feel like that, especially with all the shit he has to go through.

I wish Nintendo would delve deeper into the minds of some of their more important characters as well. Though, Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening did do that to some extent, although in a very, very subtle manner.
Link's Awakening showed us his deepest fears, and it was the first major game that offered insight into his character - stating that he wasn't a perfect hero and person, and that he has fears and anxieties like everyone else,
Majora's Mask however, was a huge step into the Hero of Time's psyche and state of mind. Have you read any MM theories from Zelda Universe, Zelda Informer, 4chan, etc? Most of them suggest that it's themes are all about mental maturity, growing up, accepting fate or death, loneliness, friendship, forgiveness, learning to move on in life, and hope.
And I've always wanted Nintendo to make Link into a dynamic character... as long as they don't go the "Other M" route with him; totally going against most fans' impressions or assumptions of his personality, lol.

I haven't played Link's Awakening before.
But I have played Majora's Mask and I have to agree that the character development in that game, for something towards the N64 was truly amazing.
I am a member in Zelda Universe, so I have read the theories well, which is pretty interesting at times.
I just wish we could see a much darker side to Link in terms of being vulnerable.

Aww, poor Link! It is hard being the one man for the job, but by the Light Sage, I won't let you fail!

Too bad Nintendo doesnΒ΄t show the hidden feelings of their characters so we allways have to read them ourselves. I also wonder the same as you and would not be surpriced at all If it was true. Link doesnΒ΄t have it easy at all even tough heΒ΄s the destined hero.
Very good drawing! *favs*

That's true. Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess had amazing character development, but they always seem to miss out on Link a lot. But apparently he is the avatar of the player, so they don't want to overdo him to make him seem like he has his own personality.
And thanks!

CouldnΒ΄t agree more and indeed, Nintendo allways says that Link is meant to be us. But even so, Link actually has his own personality etc, Nintendo just hides is for us. But then also, some people can actually see hidden things and read between the lines.
And youΒ΄re welcome!
