IΒ΄ve red about your last disaster! ThatΒ΄s the reason why I never use liquid colours. ItΒ΄s too dangerous and mistakes canΒ΄t be removed!
So you like dragons too ? Maybe you should do some graphite pencil practise before you start with coloured dragons.
And youΒ΄re right. The background needs more detail. But all in all a very nice picture

Exactly! Effing watercolour paper that can't even withstand water!
And yesh, I love dragons too. I was thinking previously about drawing a dragon in graphite only, but it would be so bare... Maybe I should draw one next.
And thank you! Yeah the background was a disgrace...
But doing mistakes like these teaches me to improve.

I tried watercolour paper only one time and... well NO WAY. I mean it resisted the water but... arrrgh I HATE liquid colours!!!
If you want to give it a try please have a look on my dragon please if you havenΒ΄t seen it yet [link]

... I didn't see this in my messages! Wow that's a beautiful dragon!
Liquid watercolours are beautiful... but they're harder to control than pencils. It was the paper that pissed me off more than anything else.

from the thumbnail i thought this was digital art! i love how smooth the colouring is and what colour's you have used!
I was thinking, do you think we could do an art trade sometime?

Awww thank you!
I'll think about an Art Trade soon. I'm too busy with university at the moment, but in the near future, sure.

Well, the only critiquing I can think of is the sunset in the background. It looks like you based the blending on the head of the dragon, not the background itself. =/ Again, likely due to your speediness. Otherwise, the style all goes together smoothly. =]

Yeah. But it's really hard to blend these pencils in the background. No matter how much pressure I press on the tissue to blend it, the lines are still visible. Perhaps I should try drawing backgrounds in circular motions so that the lines disappear better.
Time to experiment.
And thanks for pointing that out.

Well, I just meant that the colour scheme arcs around the head, is all..

As the orange side to the left starts to meet the more purple/blue side to the right, the sort of "line" where they meet kind of fits the curves of the head of the dragon. =/

Ahhh... I see where you're getting at now. Yeah that's a flaw I overlooked till everything was done.
I'll be sure not to repeat the same mistake again.
