Rider never really wanted a family when she was younger but grew accustom to family life first with Aurora and later with Metalica who both her and Nether Storm fawned over.

Nether Storm always wanted a big family like he had as a kid (Him his mom and dad. Two little sisters, Big brother and big sister.) with Aurora he often wasn't home much however and normally left her care to Rider (thus the reason they fought so much) once they had Metalica she became his world. However on the occasions he did have to leave or work at that time Metalica decided to annoy daddy.
(which lead to him getting none from Rider since Mecs was always around) He still loved her alot but lack of sleep gets to you. (Rider although just as caring with Mecs as Nether Storm was more distant and had less in common with her. So Mecs would always end up going to Nether Storm. She was and still is a daddy's girl)
