Description Watercolor painting, scanned and completed Digitally.

Map, compass, breaching whale and sailing ship all watercolor, city images done digitally, labels digitally by hand, title watercolor retouched digitally.

The challenge was making everything work together in the end since watercolor and digital tend at least for me not to match exactly.

For the digital stuff I used a Wacom Intous 5 and/or Cintiq companion depending on where I was at the time.

It must've been quite a planning work to combine watercolor and digital. Very well done and I like the world. I don't see many people doing those castle images while it really gives the mood and feel of the wolrd/continent. That you actually based the land's name on the native plant is very realistic and believable.

Thank you for your comments.

Would it be a sin to admit that a lot of the details where worked out as I painted it rather than ahead of time?

If I had it to do over again I think I would paint the illustrations in watercolor and import them instead of trying to paint them digitally and get them to match the watercolor style. That was a bit of a bear but I think I only got them pretty close.

Excellent map. The way you've combined the watercolour and the digital has worked very well.

Thanks, as mentioned that was probably my biggest challenge on this.
