Once again with the "Last of.." Toman & his Lady (not-yet lover) share an embrace as their world crumbles around them. War has come. Toman was sworn as the Princess' Guard, and when the C'aur were attacked, he whisked her away to safety at the Chief's order. But the Chief and all the clan are either dead or taken as slaves for the Maurs. Now he holds Aslyne close, aware of how much he cares for her. Only the C'aur medallion in his hand keeps him from proclaiming his love to the little princess.
