Description
[EDIT 9/11/11]WHAT.
WHERE DID THIS DD COME FROM. WHAT IS GOING ON.
Oh my gooosh I don't even know. XD Thank you so much *alexielart for the suggestion and ^kasumichan2003 for the feature. MY MIND IS BLOWN WITH GRATITUDE.
---------------
This is Orrin. Someone just interrupted his morning solitude.
He is not thanking them for it.
I needed an inked illustration for a scholarship thingy, despite not having inked anything traditionally in atleast 2 years. So the lineart for this is what I ended up with.
Naturally I ended up hating the lines so much finishing it off digitally seemed like my only option other then punching someone in the face.
Anyway, I'm sure this seems a little non-sequitur compared to the other pieces I have up. 8T Honestly I can't remember where I got the idea, other then that it was originally Ben brushing his teeth.
In the end I went with Orrin, who is an old, grumpy character and I thought his glare might make for a more interesting piece.
Oh, and I figured out Google SketchUp and used it to give me a hand with the background. 8D It's a great program.
ok ok ok I'll shut up.
I hope you guys like this :T feel free to tell me things and yeah you know how it goes.

O_O I love this job.
The perspective and the composition itself are well achieved.
Just like the lighting and the handling of the shadows. I like the level of detail since it is not too much but is enough to give some serious and critical touch to the scene.
Things that I find are less well .... almost imperceptible, as the rotation of the head, does not quite fit well with the mirror's reflection. and well, the spout, I could not tell, maybe it's those that rotate, if so the perspective will be fine.
Despite you say that you have not inked anything traditionally in 2 years, the result was very cool.
In general terms, a good work, friend.

Oh, is real hard, when you remembering only image, without artist and title.
Well, this picture stay base of look my alter-ego (concurrently OC on second version in post Earth and game-hero). If i'm don't find this, i'm trying draw this and asked to find this.
Congratulations to you and me. By the way, I probably saw it in real life (man that in base on pic).

I love that the cigarette is up on the soap dish and the soap is down on the sink. Men.

The facial expression of the guy is priceless and the drawing technique is great. I can even feel that morning air and imagine how he just woke up.
Congrats!!

That creepily looks like the bathroom we have at our apartments at school (MCAD) It's freakily uncanny. Love that texture, and the shadowed blues are especially gorgeous.

I like the details of the room, the subtle use of the greenish monochromatic treatment, the fact that the viewer of this piece seems to be the one intruding on the subject, and how it all comes together to cause me to feel somehow both apologetic and appreciative at the same time. Good job.

I feel like, when I look at this, that I'm interrupting his little routine and he's glaring at me, which makes me feel a little uncomfortable. That's talent, right there!
I also love the grittiness of it all.

I love the dingy lighting and the really-cheap-apartment feel. His expression is the icing on the cake!
Your lines are great! Don't be afraid to do traditional art again.

Thank you so much! And this definetly gave me some confidence to try more tradiotnal inking methods. I just recently bought a set of nib pens and have been playing around with them. Traditional ink really is a lot of fun.
