the DOF of this shot makes it unique, as well as the angle. it's a very interesting angle, and with the shallow DOF, our eyes are lead straight to her eye, which is striking. the smile also...it's natural, and makes the shot feel spontaneous, not set-up in any way. that's important. the colors are so saturated and striking, and i love the soft wisp of hair across her face. beautiful!

I can't believe I haven't added this to my favourites yet! This is a photo that I keep on coming back to time and time again - just to admire it. To be honest it is one of my favourite portrait shots on the site and was the direct inspiration for my featured deviation. There is a warmth to this piece that I'm sure has the ability to touch any viewer who stops by.
