I'm much, much happier with the art in this week's strip. The colors really turned out exactly the way I wanted, and Naomi's facial expressions are fun.

I didn't want to do just another cute Valentine's Day strip about Curt and Jess having a nice moment or whatever. Probably because I'm a huge asshole, I dunno. Instead, I thought it would be really funny to have him talking with Naomi about it and have her be really insulting and dismissive.

So the first thing my wife said after reading it is, "Wow, he's just gonna let her talk about his girlfriend that way?" Which I hadn't really considered when writing it. (Huge asshole.) I sort of lamely said something like, "well, he's kind of supposed to be a jerk...uh..." but it's a good point. What an ass.
