Description
She doesn't understand why they're all looking at her like that.I don't draw fanart very often, but this character kind of spoke to me. She's a very minor character from Anne Bishop's Black Jewels series. Some very minor spoilers may be ahead.
Della's village is attacked by a rival army and is completely destroyed. She's the only survivor, and wouldn't have survived herself if the invading army hadn't in turn been attacked by a group of Arcerian cats.
The cats of Arceria are 600-pound, vicious, magical, intelligent felines who don't ordinarily care much for humans. Because of recent incursions on their territory, they have begun to learn to deal with humans, so when they find a lone little girl, they decide to rescue her. Several years later, she is adopted by Karla, the Queen of a nearby Territory.
That's about all that Della is mentioned, but it got me thinking: I wonder if Karla had any problems taking in a ten-year-old that had been raised in the wilderness by wild animals? I can't help but think there may have been some culture shock there.

I know!
To be honest, the character that adopted her would probably just throw her own utensils away and join her adopted daughter in tearing their food apart with their teeth. Karla, in spite of being a Queen, doesn't care much for being ladylike or for normal conventions of society.

Thanks!
They're a very interesting series, and the author has created a very unique world. The books can get very intense, though: while they have their humorous parts, they aren't for the faint of heart. That aside, I definitely recommend them.

I think I could handle it--I read Brandon Sanderson after all.
