Description
Painting the dress strands was really fun, it may look simple but it was a timely process. I had to do which I'm always afraid of doing... merging,I had to merge it with the model to match the colors just right.

In lots of ways, this piece almost feels like a still from Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula movie. I could see this character fitting right in with the romantic yet horror-like elements he was aiming for.
Technically speaking, this work is fantastic. The details and lighting on the dress are very well done, and evoke a sense of movement that makes her look as if she is about to take flight. I would have preferred to see a bit more variety in the hair, but it is definitely not a major issue.
I also enjoy this concept that we are "peeking" at her through maybe a hole in the wall or some other form of cover with the use of the darkened areas around the canvas. A very clever addition.
I do have one criticism, however, and it's the birds in the foreground. Unfortunately, for me, they feel a bit too fake, and this is where using images of real crows would have helped tie up the bow on this work nicely. That being said, the eyes on the crows are great. The little squiggly red lines from their eyes are really cool and spooky.
A wonderful photomanipulation, and definitely something I'd recommend keeping in your portfolio.
