Description
This is something I've been wanting to do for quite a while, but I never brought myself to do. For those who don't know, I have a character in the Warriors books named after me - an ancient Tribe kit named Jay Frost. Since I used my design for Jayfrost for Jay Frost's art on the Warriors wiki. Since I had now cemented Jay Frost's design as canon, I didn't want to change Jayfrost's design to look different from his, no matter how much I wanted to updated it with some of my new techniques.

However, the Warriors wiki is currently redoing all of their kit images with a new lineart, so Jay Frost's charart will need to be redone anyway. I asked whether I could give Jay Frost a new design, as long as it fit his written description of a gray-brown tom with darker markings, and when I got confirmation on that I decided to finally revamp Jayfrost's design, since I could then use that new design for Jay Frost. Hope that all made sense.

Anyway, here, at long last, is Jayfrost's new and improved design. She's got the same medium-furred, scruffy, thick-tailed design as before, with the cheek fur tufting out, so the physical design is basically the same other than the lack of scars.

I decided that if I was getting this one chance to update Jayfrost's design, I was gonna go all-out, so this is a somewhat complicated design, but I'm so happy with how it turned out. I've fallen in love with lynx point tabby designs lately, so this time around Jayrost gets to be a lynx point. She still has the Vs on her shoulders and hips and the badger stripes on her face, but she has more stripes now to make her more of a tabby, and her tail stripes are more standard now.

She has two sets of belly fur colors this time. Her pale fur pushes farther up her nose this time, to make her look even more like the badger her markings are based off of. The paler body and darker legs also helps make her look like a badger, I think. ^^ I added ear tufts because I think they look cool, and I made them pale, also as a nod to a badger's look. I played around with the markings on her chest to make her look more distinctive, and her darker belly fur color is more saturated to make it stand out a bit. I gave her a more reddish shade of amber eyes this time, I think they look better this time. ^^

Her markings are identical on each side, except for two exceptions. She only has the jay feathers in front of her left (our right) ear, and she has that spot on her cheek only on her right (our left) side. It's a nod to a beauty mark I have on that cheek. Always wanted to incorporate that into a fursona design, never managed to do it.

Overall, I'm really happy with how it turned out.
