Description I haven't seen much of Spongebob Season 10 yet, but the ones I have seen have not been doing good. My main issue here is the Season 9B writing, I don't like it and frankfully it has been hurting the show in my opinion much like 's problem with The Loud House season 1B's writing I feel that 9B for Spongebob is on the same level of bad because the humor does not even feel like Spongebob's instead like the poorman's version of Deadpool with the writing feeling very similar to what we have already seen in other episodes before in the attempt of labeling them as original. Followed with Spongebob feeling less like himself. Funny to think that the creator returns and he makes Spongebob act even more different than how he began.

The worst episode as of right now is definitely Plankton Retires, nothing happens in the episode, the jokes all fall flat and the story is a worse version of New Leaf with the episode having little in it but filler.

So far Season 10 hasn't been doing well  , maybe when I watch the other blank episodes I can be hopeful for a good episode but again 9B worries me.

Also Is it me or are they really over appearing Bubble Bass more than ever now?

Spongebob is in Ren and Stimpy territorial standards now. They got Bob Jaques, Richard Pursel, Bob Camp and Kelly Armstrong, all Spumco veterans. If you don't like that, then you may not like this season and that's okay. Different tastes, different perspectives.

Is that really a bad thing? SpongeBob is trying something different, and whether it's good or bad is not my call, but you think it's worse than the previous seasons, or is it just hard to get used to?

I will update this by the end of the week and I will at least try and get a better understanding of what 10 really is about. However from what I have seen there isn't anything quite wrong at all to some this is much better and I will say I can't argue with them. Others say that the show has improved after 8 but I haven't been so impressed, generally jokes need to be explained is one of the issues I have been seeing more of 9B and above and sometimes the humor feels generic. Nothing bad especially compared to Season 6 but a little in between of 1-3 and 4-9, some qualities of both era's are still present with some newer ones as well. I don't have any issues on the writing staff for trying something new but I am just not enjoying it as much as I should.

Also, do you think the tone of this season reminds you of the Mike Scully era from the Simpsons (if you saw seasons 9 to 12)? It feels that way, which explains why most episodes are emphasized on comedy than stories and there's not enough emotional moments.

"humor does not even feel like Spongebob's instead like the poorman's version of Deadpool"

I think that's enough internet for a day.

I usually think of Meta humor to be a Deadpool thing. If not that more along Gumball's brand of meta.

I haven't noticed much more meta humor besides the increased references.

I respect your opinion, I just thought that Deadpool comparison was really weird.

I respect your opinion. Honestly what does hurts this season is due to executive meddling, certain episodes are a little hyperactive and wacky for its own good. I don't mind it but I think they're overdoing it in some episodes such as Snooze You Lose, Krusty Katering, Life Insurance. Whirlybrains I was okay with it because it felt like a Ren and Stimpy episode which I will give it a pass. So far it's decent but Ben Gruber need to not write for SpongeBob again. He's making this episode way too zany

You got that right. The Ren and Stimpy vibe is definitely why these episodes don't sit well, they are just hyperactive and the jokes don't feel like Spongebob, and personally I wasn't that big a fan of R&S which is why I am not that impressed with this season right now.

On the bright side, we don't see that many grossout moments in the new season that much (aside from a scene in Krusty Katering when the kids sneezed all over on Squidward) compared to the show's nadir (lowest point)
