I had been trying to get a pic of this guy eating ants, but I was no where near fast enough to get the shot. His tongue was way too fast! I am not worthy!In other news, I know that cage on the right may distract some of you all, but I thought if I cropped it out, it would be so plain. So yeah. That's that story. He was on my driveway and it was quite interesting trying to pay so much attention to him yet keep my dog away at the same time.

He's PURDY! And oh so sophisticated. Too bad you didn;t get the tongue in action, THAT would have made a fantastic shot unbelievable. And you are worthy, you got this guy in all his glory. Very cool.

So is he a pet or just one of the many reptiles you tend to attract from the wild? And the detail is great. Was he standing stillquite a bit or did you just catch him in a moment of silent repose?

Well, he was the one looking all sexy, not me so I can't take the credit for that. lol. No, he's not a pet. He's just one of the local animals that constantly visits my house. I've got a ton of "unofficial" pets. He was still. He was waiting for an ant to walk by so he could snatch one. He was just chillin in between feedings.

Good, I wanted to make sure you knew that. He's one of the things I miss about Texas... we don't have many toads found around here. All the frogs we have just hide in the water so we don't get to see them too much. One of the prices I pay for being here I guess.

It rained the other day and I went outside and was looking around. There were 5 toads running around everywhere. 2 of them were real big, but one of them was HUGE! I couldn't take my eyes off of that one. It was cool.

When I was visiting my mom in Lubbock the toads and frogs came out of nowhere every night - they hung around the porch and carport because they knew there were thousands of bugs circling the lights there. They were everywhere. I need to go back and see if I have any pictures, but I know non will be as good as yours.

it was called "too fast for you" i wanted to get the tongue catching the ant cuz i figured that was pretty fast. i did enter, but with a different pic. its over now. didn't win, but it was still cool.

thats what happened with me. it was my first time trying anything like that. it just happened something turned out. the new contest is cool. its like nature in red or something. i dont have anything good thats red. i'm gonna have to try to find something.
