Just a short little alt-history scenario, where we get a sort of reversed Iberian Peninsula.

The POD is a portugal having a constitutional crisis, due to which they have a civil war around the same time as the spanish. Thus the fascists in spain have to fight a two front war with the republican front at home, and the portugese front at the border. This soon creates an alliance between salazar and franco where they unite as union between their two countries. Elsewhere france intervenes on the behalf of the republican remnants particularly the catalans, through which they allow to create a buffer state against the fascist threat near them.
