Ok I'm going to explain about how this "soul turning into the weapon" thing works and what she does in the storyline. When in battle or attacked, she uses her soul to transform bows and arrows (obviously).
and if her weapon gets hit, it affects her but not in large enough to kill her, it's like a slap in the face. Unless it breaks, it takes half her hp (the less broken the bow the less hp is taken). And makes her attacks weaker by 10-20%. But once she's below 5 hp, she can't do anything (since she's unable to use her broken bow) but talk her way out or go bye bye! In the genocide route, she's a mini boss fight after entering the snowy area. she tries her best to talk to frisk to not kill and to spear the monsters and that they want to live in peace and stuff like that, but she gets killed. But before she's turned to all ash, she tells frisk one last time to reconsider what she told them and leaves them with her bow and arrow (soul). Along side a coupon for free soup. In other routes ( pacifist route and after seeing undying and papyrus), she doesn't meet frisk until waterfall, where she's practicing her
aim and nearly hits frisk. To make it up to them, she takes them to anywhere they need to be, but it has to be where they've been before. Kinda like helping frisk having to not encounter so many monsters while going back and fourth.

Her role in undertale, she helps around a small soup shop with other monsters in snowdin (she's never in the same place) and uses to money to support herself and for her to get into someplace in the royal castle (she is set up as a body guard which is something she's proud of being in). And that's it, you talk to her very so often in the game unless it's her shop or in waterfall (which is once when you first encounter her).

Also this isn't her 'royal guard' clothing, it's her (in the title) thingy when she's not on duty and is having to fight frisk or other things ajssjvajz. Okay bye bye uwu
