AI "artists" coming on here to dogpile me will be blocked. trust me, i can and will free up my block list to do it.

human artists who are seeing this, trying using Glaze to protect your art from being scraped by AI programs! it's still in its beta stages and it's not completely perfect, but it's a step in right direction to protect your art from AI "artists" (and it's made in Chicago where i'm from 😊).

i don't use this site anymore. i already didn't like it here before because my boundaries were repeatedly disrespected by creeps on this site.

but, the reason why i left was because DeviantArt is allowing people to steal from us.

DeviantArt is now filled to the brim with AI-generated images, sometimes indiscernible from human artists.

these images are uploaded by shady people who claim to be "artists".

these so-called "AI artists" do nothing more than insert prompts into a program, and the program will generate an image.

unfortunately, these images are made up of other people's art.

human artists.

these AI-generating programs like Midjourney steal hours and hours of work people put into their art and spit them out as horrifically amalgamated images that one can "claim" as their own.

AI "art" is theft.

these "artists" who use these AI-generation programs will tell you:

- "it takes a lot of skill to insert a prompt that will properly generate an image."
- "AI art is just another form of creative expression"
- "AI art is for people who can't draw"

these are all lies.

inserting the "perfect" prompt does not take skill, it's just repeating typing to get what you want. stealing from human artists and scraping their art to make these images is not "creative", the only thing you're expressing is a lack of respect for yourself and others.

and most of all, people who can't draw do not exist.

drew a stick figure? it's your drawing. it's art. drew something you're not 100% satisfied with? boom, it's your art, you made it from scratch. with a pencil. a pen. maybe even a tablet pen.

anyone can draw, regardless of skill level. "i can't draw" is not a true statement.

you are an human artist.

if feel like your art isn't good enough, always strive to improve. even if you believe your art is perfect, you should still strive to improve.

there are plenty of resources out there, now more than ever.

that's what it means to be an artist. growing and changing as you continue to make art, getting better and taking pride in yourself when you look back at how much you grew over time.

but, the people who say they can't draw and never tried are the ones using these AI programs.

they believe they can make a perfect piece without any of the practice. they don't care if it's unethical, they will make any form of excuse to may what they do okay.

they will actively insult human artists, calling them crybabies who don't respect different art mediums. they scam people by claiming they created the "art" they generated when looking for work. they steal jobs from human artists who often cannot afford a sustainable lifestyle.

as a black nonbinary artist in poverty who has struggled heavily for YEARS with putting their art out to be seen by the world, it absolutely disgusts me how much integrity these people lack. my self-esteem about my art has always been low, feeling like i can only put out mediocre pieces and that i could never achieve anything in the faces of thousands of other artists who are much more skilled and privileged than me. i even thought about quitting art multiple times before, knowing that i'm practically forced to live in everyone's more successful shadow.

but did i once think about resorting to AI? or stealing from others?

NO.

regardless of my skill level, or how i feel about myself and my art, i am a human artist. i've been drawing ever since i was young. everything i created was with my own hands, not a program. i started on paper with a pen, pencil, and colored pencils, and now i'm digital with a Huion 420 tablet, Paint Tool SAI 2, and a PC.

my art, and anyone else's human-created art regardless of skill, will and always will be better than this AI-generated sludge that these lazy thieves call "art".
