Phew, it wasn't as quick as I wanted it to be... Damn your helmet, X. It tirned out to be the most complex part of you. Almost as complex as drawing Zero's chest correctly. No joking, these two things are pain to draw.

For the context, this is how I see X in X7. That time when he retired from Irregular Hunters to search for more peaceful solutions for ending this war. He started acting more aggresively at the time of Axl's first arrival at Irregular Hunters HQ. And it wasn't a thing that no one noticed. Zero wasn't pleased but he was trying to be patient as he knew X will eventually snap and return to his job as a hunter, and Signas was trying to constantly shut up X's mouth when he was interrupting.

I'm gonna say, as much as I actually respect and care about X (even if it can barely be seen because of my love towards Axl. I care about Zero too, don't worry. I absolutely love this entire trio), he's annoying as heck here. I wasn't even thinking that X was in X7 for the longest time (like, an evil clone was in this game that was replaced by original in next instalments. No joke, I was refusing to belive that I was looking at X here) before I actually thought more about this breakdown of his. He was trying to end this endless battle for so long, even coming to the point of killing countless victims of war and virus, EVEN THOUGH X is a pacifist that absolutely hates murder, but no matter how hard he and others tried, everything was getting worse each time. So X decided that, well, if he'll stop killing Irregulars, he'll exit the "cycle of agression" and everything might start getting better then. And while he's not being a hunter, he might actually find a peaceful solution to this mess. But everything started to go downhill really fast -- Zero needed to work for two (he can complete difficult missions all by himself too, but he was feeling much better when X was around, and compliting the mission together is always easier than alone) and others started to lose hope for this world's recovery, the future seemed dark. Red Alert happened because all of it and we all know how this turned out. X made a mistake, but he wasn't admitting it for a long time. He still wanted to find peaceful solutions as he definetely still didn't go off his way, but the situation probably was pressuring him hard, which made his personality change a little bit. He was tired and angry, but still tried to reach the goal the peaceful way he chose. Breakdown eventually was slowly turning him into something he tried to get rid of which also made Zero seeing the nightmares about X being a shadow of his former self that Zero was hoping to never see in his life (remember X4 where X asked Zero to kill him if X will go Irregular one day and Zero wasn't even trying to make a promise because he didn't want to lose someone else after he needed to kill Iris?). X still was there, but his true self was locked-up in deepest part of his DNA-Program by negative thoughts.

At least this is all I see for myself.

I wrote a bit about Breakdown X on this sheet. It's exactly the size of A4 format of paper so I needed to cramp up everything, including explainations.

I played with the eyes here too, as you can see. As my buddy Thani said, "eyes are the window of the soul"... Well, DNA-Soul in this case
