Description
This is a just a simple model of a Cave Grove light mechanized unit, or Walker Tank as they were known. Crewed by a single tanker, they stood only four meters tall, and were very nimble and quick on the battlefield. Walkers were deployed in mountainous regions, within cities and even on larger orbital facilities to help repel boarding parties. They could move in all directions, and even jump short distances, and were intimidating units to confront in anything short of heavy power armor. The skilled tankers who piloted these vehicles did so through a direct brainstem implant that made the walker a literal mechanized extension of their body. This walker will be featured in an upcoming drawing, which was hinted at in the description of my last piece

Oh yeah, that HUGE red thing? I played that back before my computer caught on fire and turned into a homicidal antifun machine.

Mhmm, I'm familiar with those, but my favorite was actually a brief boss-battle in the Turok 360 game

Nice picture.
However, even with a highly automated system, just one crew member is always a bad idea. As crew work load will tend to get the better of them, in the end.
Having at least a crew of two, possibly three for the 'command' version, would be better.
Just some thoughts.

Well, this is a light walker, and is packed with pretty sophisticated automated systems. Walking it is as easy as thinking of moving the vehicle in a direction, and the terrain-mapping systems take care of the rest. The gun is fully automatic, is self-purging and reloading, and the six forward-facing sensors can track, detect and range a target while you and they are both moving. They do occasionally step on the troops around them, and sometimes walk through walls or off ledges, which rarely happens with their larger cousins. You might be onto something there...

Just, I was atching some Youtube clips about the early tank in WW II and how, generally, the french tanks were actually better in a lot of ways than the German machines.
The only except problem, of course, being the risiculous work load the rench crew had in actually operating the beasts.
For example, in the Char B1 (The premium heavy tank of its day) The driver had to drive the tank...and aim the main gun (Because it was built into the hull right beside him) and fire the thing! At least he had a loader pushing shells into the breach.
The Tank commander? He had to, spot for enemies. Load, Aim and fire the 'secondary' gun in his smaller turret. Use the co-axial machine gun against close, softer threats. As well as actually command the whole group of men inside the machine with him!
*Shakes head*
There were a lot of lessons learned the very hard way in that conflict, but then again, aren't all conflicts just the case of learning new things the hard way...
Much cheers to you and yours.
