So when I was in Seatlle at the ECCC I met with a DC Comics. She gave me her card and asked me to e-mail her (yeah I am a sucker for this again) and get a sample script because she wanted to see me do a few scenes that were "quiet." I e-mailed her that night from my phone in order to get the process started ASAP. She warned that it would be a little while before se got back to me but to be patient.So I wrote to her March 30th (I know because it was the day after my birthday). So a month goes by and nothing. 2 months and nothing. So it feels like when you ask a girl for her number, and then she says she will take yours instead because she doesnt want you to lose it. Then... nothing...
Yeah felt like high school all over again. But FINALLY I heard back and got a script. This is my first part of that script from an issue of The Flash. Now the waiting again. While I wait I will do other parts of the book.
Now it feels like in high school when the hot girl pretends to like you, and calls and talks all sweet while her friends are on the line listening and laughing at you.
Anyway.. uh, here they are.

I'm doin' good. My Flag Football team is .500. We've got 2 more games and need to win 1 to get to the playoffs. So I'm Psyched for that. I've got 15 TD's to 4 INT's on the season. My art is gettin' better, so I'm diggin' that. Just need someone. To notice now. My daughter and I are going to Vegas on the 22nd, so I can drop her off then she'll bed there for 2 weeks and I'll be doin' ton more comic pages until I get a steady gig. LOL !!!!
Let me know when you comin' to town again and I'll take ya by the station man.

Yeah, it takes editors forever to get back to you. Fact is, they're just to busy to deal with new guys. However, some also like to keep quiet to see how dedicated you are. Will you keep sending emails asking for updates (without being annoying)? Will you keep throwing samples their way (they love this -- shows you have the ability to draw more than five pages at a time)?
But you got that new project, so that'll give you a lot of cred as far as throwing in with the Big Two.

Thanks much appreciated. Yeah I have played the waiting game before and its tough just balancing between making sure you follow up with emails and becoming a stalker! LOL. Like I have always said, I am going to keep drawing either way so I'm not going anywhere! Thanks for the advice!

I know I was just plain. I agre right now Marvel is winning the war. I have said all along that DC pulled up lame in Identity Crisis. If they had let Ray Palmer be the murderer rather than his wife it would have been so much better and made for so many better stories. If one of the heroes of the DC Universe could flip like that for his ex wife, who else could lose it and go bad? Everyone already thinks Batman is a stones throw away from going completely nutty anway, how would veryone have treated him?
I was sure Marvel would wuss out at the end of Civil War and have it all be MJ's bad dream or that Prof X would mindwipe the world to forget it all, but nope. Peter Parker is outed and the world is on its ear! And now with the skrull factor in there (see Mighty Avengers) who knows whats next!?!

Ah! If Wolverine is a Skrull then that means that he didnt really go to see Caps body which may mean that Cap is still alive. Everyone thinks that Tony Stark is Skrull too. Cant wait to see where this goes.
