Description
Part 1: [link]I think this is pretty self explanatory..
the sketches aren't that special, they are there to give you an idea of how it works, this demonstration barely even covers the basics - the movement of the tail, and the posture too, are things that can also be taken into account. Body language is quite complex when you really consider it.

I usually draw them with folded or partially folded wings as I think it would be exhausting and impractical to keep the spread all the time, as well as poor manners (you could accidentally hit someone in the face or wave it around in front of it) but if they are angry they kinda partially open them to seem bigger like birds do.

This is very useful! It's interesting how dragons can portray emotions with their wings.

could you please explain the difference in the wings (if any) between confident/dominant and aggressive?
oh and thank you

aggressive tends to be more flared, confident/dominant is just perked wings really
it depends on the other things like facial expression and pose too...

When I draw animals with wings, I kinda use the wings to show expression, but I'd never really thought too much about it. This is great!!

Yes, body language tells a lot about how a dragon looks and feels. Great references here!

there are maaany different variations of wing position+facial expression that will communicate different emotions. This is just a demonstration. C:
and depending on the type of smile, can also read differently, that dragon could be laid back/easy going or nervous/embarrassed, or maybe something else that I haven't even thought of.
it's a very complex thing once you take in all the variables and I've had my fair share of fun mixing and matching body language and facial expressions.

Now I'm going to draw a dragon.
A Starscreamdragon to be exact...
Thanks for this, I would have never been able to draw a dragon before time. I want to say that this was very helpful; and that you WILL get good results from teaching us.
