Description
"I'd rather be hated by the world for loving God than be loved by the world and shunning God."My sixteenth stamp, made by customizing a stamp template via Adobe Photoshop. (Image used in stamp found over the internet.)
(Created on 8-26-2011.)
It is not uncommon for others to desire acceptance. Many fear rejection. But what good will it be to gain acceptance by compromising your faith? Love should never be at the cost of your faith in God/Jesus.
God's love is eternal. He already knew you even before you were born. He loved you so much that He sent His Son Jesus to rescue you from eternity in hell in which we deserve for our sins. He did that for you. Future eternity in Heaven with God will be worth so much more than anything we can gain in the world today. So is it worth it to deny your faith before others?
"What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" (Matthew 16:26)
It is guaranteed that not everyone will be accepting of believers. It's not easy to deal with, especially to experience having friends and loved ones even reject you. But if you were ever put in a situation in which the world is against you, who would you choose to side with? The world or God? Where does your allegiance lie? When it all comes down to a great big shaking in our comfort zone, where will we turn to?
Feel free to put this stamp on your page if you feel the same way.

Good thing that never happens. Christians have something called "majority privilege" which let them be seen as better citizens than the minority.

So ... what you're basically saying is you would throw away the only life you know for sure you have, in favor of something you may have faith in but have no way of knowing it actually even exists?
I don't know, but to me, this seems rather sad ...
I mean, what good is your faith when you're all alone? Does your faith feed you, clothe you, shelter you, care about you or what you feel? I know you may want to say "yes", but think about that really hard before you do, because actually, it does not.

I agree. Religion is just a burden on humanity that can throw us back into the dark ages if the fundamentalists rise to power. Sure, it was a coping mechanism in ancient times when people didn't know about the world and trusted any book that claimed to be "absolute truth", but the Greeks started making scientific advancements and others followed suit, until an Islamic fundamentalist rose to power in Baghdad, bringing a major turn of censorship that all but destroyed their knowledge. Sure, the Christians preserved the knowledge, but they soon turned to religious fundamentalism and became scientific retardants and proponents of censorship. And this could lead to a new dark age if christian fundamentalists are elected into power in the US, especially as they can wipe out almost all secular and non-christian nations with the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons on the planet which could lead to not only us humans becoming a dead species, but to the whole earth becoming a dead planet. *shudder*

Oh, come on. You actually think that Christians could destroy humanity and the whole earth??? First of all, that could never happen. Christianity isn't about wiping out all of the other religions/beliefs. If they were true Christians, they would think more than twice before using nuclear weapons, just as any other person would. Everyone knows that nuclear weapons are very, very dangerous. We also know that if one nuclear weopon is dropped, more will, too. Everyone is aware of the damage hat would do. Second, why do you even care if Christians are elected into power? Just because we have different beliefs doesn't mean we are "a burden on humanity."

Okay, first off, you tried a "no true Scotsman" fallacy. Second, what was the reason for the crusades and the Spanish inquisition? To force others to convert to Christianity! And the Nazis were an extremist Christian political party. And they killed the Jews and homosexuals to, guess what? Follow a supposedly "divine command". Religions work by shoving their beliefs down someone's throat until they give in, then shutting that person's access to any information that opposes their belief, regardless of how truthful either side is to a particular subject.

No, the Nazis weren't anything close to Christians. Some things say they were, but Hitler, if anything, was pretending to be one. And I said "true Christians", not ones from several hundred years ago that didn't believe in the right thing. True Christians are different.
That is NOT how Christianity works. Or at least it's not supposed to be. There are some Christians who do that, but it isn't what God wants us to do. We are supposed to spread God's word. Not force everyone to believe in it. It's your choice to believe or not.
The Bible tells us to spread the word nicely. There is no part that says that we should kill anyone who doesn't believe, or even force them to. Jesus never used violence against anyone. Some Christians just don't understand that.

Again with the true Scotsman fallacy. If you are gonna waste my time by saying they "aren't true Christians" when so many people have so many different opinions on what "a true Christian" is, then I am dropping this debate.

Agreed.
I'd rather be loved by God, who loves me no matter what than to be "loved" by manipulating and rude people who "claim" to love me.
Some people in this world have proven to me that people can be rude, but there ARE good people; just hard to find in this world.

You really shouldn't hate him because of what other people say, If you had a belief in him don't destroy that. There are Rude and Ignorant Christians, but there are Smart and Amazing ones too! I serve my best to not shove religion ( more like a relationship) down your throat, hang in there buddy!

no, its YOURSELF that made you hate god. You can't blame other people for your own actions. Learn to take responsibility. God hates to see others blaming others for something that wasnt their fault. I'm not trying to tell you off, just saying take responsibility for your own actions.

you don't have all the facts, what so ever. I never believed in god but i didn't hate him, i had no reason to. when i moved in with my idiotic gradma and she forced, forced (god gave us free will right?) me to go to church and ff that made me hate the idea of god because one the more you push me the more i fight back and two i am exposed to all the illogical things in the bible witch to me proved me that he was not real.
