Description
"Just because I disagree doesn't mean that I hate you."My fourth stamp, made by customizing a stamp template via Adobe Photoshop.
(Created on 4-13-2011.)
Too often disagreements lead to hatred, and that shouldn't be so. We can disagree and still love each other. We don't have to agree with every single thing in order to get along with each other. Don't hate somebody just because you don't agree with them.
Feel free to put this stamp on your page if you feel the same way.

Nice mindset, but rabid Christians like to use this argument to dehumanize and insult LGBT people, as if their sexuality and gender is something you can "disagree with" when it's not.
You might want to be careful about who uses this stamp.

Well actually to clarify it is hate and disrespect if you are against someone's sexuality, gender, race etc. So the topic of "disagreement" is subjective often it is just a politically correct term to cover up the ugly truth if what people really mean.

Wow, that's a gloomy outlook.
Okay, let's get very real. I have a little brother, and I don't agree with his lifestyle or his life choices. Do I hate my brother for this? Hell no. He's my best buddy, ever! I just think, because it's my opinion (and that's really what agreeing and disagreeing is all about; differing opinions), that he could do better and take better care of himself. But your comment makes me feel like you're telling me that I must secretly hate and disrespect my bro; and that implication offends me a little.
You can't call disagreeing "a politically correct term to cover up the ugly truth of hate and disrespect" as if that's absolutely everything it is, because it's not. While it is a word that can be used that way if a person is spiteful enough, it's mostly used to mean that you just don't agree on something.

Look at my profile, sweetie. I'm part of the LGBT community and am very anti-racism. I'm just saying you're treating the word as if that is it's only use.

Again, if its towards someones sexuality, race, gender etc. It is hate. End of story. I dont care what you have to say on the matter id youre going to defend racism, sexism, anti lgbt shit etc.

Um ... as long as they're not discriminating against you, or bullying you, or not supporting your basic rights ... that is NOT hate, even if they are anti lgbt. Sorry. c: I feel like at this point you're just looking to be the victim.
Btw I am not looking to get in fights with anyone; I just have a problem with this one person's attitude.

YES!
People can take things so personally. Disliking an action you take, an opinion you have does NOT mean I hate said person.

I had a friend of 4+ years cut me out of her life in the nastiest way because I didn't agree with her beliefs. It wasn't that we had a super long discussion or fight, just me saying "I don't believe in what you believe in" and she took it personally. Even though I gave the shirt off my back for her and loved her unconditionally, she thought I was "against" her personally because I didn't believe the way she did. Probably a good thing someone that selfish is out of my life. Or a God thing.
Great stamp, think I shall use it. <3

i read the comments on this one girl's stamp about how she hated a character in a book and her description pretty much said "if you don't agree with me, I hate you"

I think disagreements is a good thing however what is your view when it comes to choosing a law that you agree/disagree with but are not against other people of their belief/or lack of belief? I think hate becomes an issue people many people of faith want their goverment/school/work to follow the same rules to and this is an issue with people like me who don't believe.
I am not trying to attack you I just seriousy want to peacefully debate this.

I don't often share my beliefs because most people are quick to assume I will dislike them because of my faith. <:C I'm not here to judge others, I don't know why people think I'm going to start scolding them.

Yep... it's our postmodern culture nowadays. Any truth claim is seen to be a personal attack. To my great shame, sometimes believers including myself act this way- a sign that modern western culture has affected even us Christians? We should just calmly take things in and respond accordingly.

Amen to that! The one problem I consistently have with atheists is that they attack me rather than my arguments. It's like "can't we both show respect?"

I like that stamp, because if I say that I will never have a boyfriend but instead I will court a man that is interested in perusing a relationship with me that my parents agree with, I don't want people to think I am saying that they are wrong or a bad person if they have a boy or girlfriend.

I agree so much with this stamp. Too many times I have seen disagreements lead to arguments and fights and even ending relationships. I wish people could just accept we all have different opinions and preferences and and learn to still love/respect each other before turning to hatred.
Thank you for making this by the way!

People actually murder/kill other people over a simple difference of opinion/preference. Sad and sick but true. Once having a different opinion leads to you losing your life, that shows that we're living in a fucked up closed minded world. People just need to get their heads out of their asses, and learn that you can't solve ANYTHING with hatred.

So true. Sadly most people see red directly or don't want to realize that there might be another opinion than yours. But who wants to be heard should hear first. Who askes for respect should show respect oneself.
