Our own righteousness and good deeds is not sufficient to save us, and earns us no favor with God.
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one:" - Romans 3:10
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." - Isaiah 64:6
The only righteousness that is acceptable with God is His own righteousness, and the only way man may enter into heaven is to have that righteousness.
"And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:" - Philippians 3:9
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." - 2 Corinthians 5:21
That righteousness is imputed (credited/transferred) to you upon faith in the gospel. Stop trying to work your way into heaven, trust Christ's finished work on the cross for your sins instead. He paid it all!
