well, that's what i had in mind. I just finished On The Road by Jack Kerouac. I've just started The Bucket Shop by Keith Waterhouse, nowt to do with the Beat Generation, but next i'm onto Big Sur!! (kerouac again!)

I'm reading On the Road right now, but I got interested in the Beat Generations sometime around last December when I read Donovan's Autobiography. He was a Beatnik and I fell in love with the way he described traveling and his style of living.

really? then we were reading on the road together, because i JUST finished it three days ago. I read The Bucket Shop already, i'm onto Hells Angels by Hunter S. Thompson because Corb is lending me Big Sur, and we had to cancel our date until the match on Sunday. Do you still have Donovan's autobio? i would love to read it. I'm also slowly making my way through Life, Death, Legend - Jim Morrison.

I'm reading One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey, and a couple other books for school. I really want to read The Naked Lunch by William Burroughs, but I'm swamp deep in books right now. Though, I think after I finish One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest I'm going to read Chronicles by Bob Dylan.
I still have Donovan's Autobiography. I actually borrowed it from the library and was really sad to part with it, so I ended up buying it when I found it in a store.
Have you read Light My Fire? It's about the Doors, but it was written by the keyboardist, Ray Manzarek. I loved it. It's one of my favourite books.

i've got a couple more doors books but not the one you mentioned here to read sometime. i've also got visions of cody and town and city by jack kerouac. Also i have a book on the life of hunter s thompson called hunter.

The Donovan Autobiography is called Hurdy Gurdy Man: The Autobiograpy of Donovan. It's magnificent. Hahahaha!
You're probably reading the Jim Morrison book much slower than I'm reading my Keith Moon book. I've had it since March and I'm only on page 200 out of 600.
I want to read Visions of Cody really bad.
I'm also kinda reading Wonderful Tonight by Pattie Boyd, but I haven't really gotten into it.
There was a Stephen King book that I was going to read, (I'm a big Stephen King fan...) but I forgot the name of it... hahahaha.

no i've been reading the jim morrison book now for over 6 months and only half way through. i'ts a large hardback so i can't take it with me on the train. well i could but i'd be lumbered down with heaps of baggage! x

Woah. I'm going to have to check that book out. Maybe it'll keep me situated for a few months. I could probably do a book report for school on it or something. Hahahaha. It'd probably take me the whole school year to read though.
