So, I hear they're re-releasing the original SF 2 animated movie on Blu-Ray. I do not think this is a good thing. I hate Street Fighter animes.It used to be I actually liked this anime, but in time I have grown to hate it as much as all the rest. Why is that? Because it got my hopes up. Despite the fact that Cammy was in it for a measly two minutes and didn't get to do jack-squat, it gave me hope that some day, they'd do another anime where she might have a bigger role.
And then SF 2 V came out, and somebody calling herself "Cammy" was in it, but it wasn't her. And the Alpha anime came out and she wasn't in it.
And I waited, and waited, and hoped for FIFTEEN YEARS. FIFTEEN YEARS. And what did I get in the end?
I got Street Fighter 4: the Ties that Bind. And you know, I like all anime in general LESS after having watched it.
So this is for Capcom and Studio 4C, who are responsible for the SF 4 anime. I hope both companies burn to the ground.
And I hope this new release of the SF 2 anime sells very badly, so it doesn't give Capcom any ideas about releasing any of the other SF animes, or worse, making any new ones.

Yeah I get what you mean. I was disappointed about her lack of use in SF2 the movie and how she was MIA from SF: Alpha. Though to be fair SF2 did give her some plot importance which isn't bad most of the character had like once scene.
Cammy suffers from what I have dubbed 'Second Female syndrome' In which the second female character (some times blonde) get little to no screen time because she was crated second. A girl with no memory of who she is and joins the British CIA? Not interesting! A Cop investigating this King of Fighters Tournament and developing a love intrust with our main character? NAAAAH! (though To be fair I like Mai better than Chun-li) a bad ass Ninja chick who hunts down a living demon sword? Drop her from the 5th game!
The only series were this is absent is DOA as majority of the cast is female and seems to reflect on the men there.. but then if they aren't Ryu Hyubusa, Bass or Zach... They aren't important lol

"Second Female Character Syndrome". So she gets no screen time because, she's new... And because by the time new female characters are introduced she's no longer new, she gets used to show off the new female characters. Great. Just great. More reason to consider a new SF anime increasingly undesirable.

Pretty much. But then the same thing will happen to Juri and C.Viper when SF6 Ultra Combo New Hyper Super Fighting Arcade Challengers Xtra Large edition comes out.
I think the only time we get any face time with here is Cannon Spike on the dreamcast the odd manga and that Udon comic.

I remember the Masahiko Nakahira Cammy manga. I love that manga. Of course, it was the only Sf manga UDON never published, or will publish, because another company has the rights to it

The SF2 anime was ok. At least they need five 100kg man at once to stop a 1,64cm tall and 50kg 'heavy'(sorry my english isn't that good) girl.
I can understand you, I waited years for it too, but the Juri OVA drives me more crazy than the other one. Cammy didn't even fight and all the Dolls got badly injured, sure Cammy won against Juri in the tournament, but Decapre is allmost dead, cause of this.
Just remember, the movies generaly doesn't show the true power of a character. Bison lost to Ryu and Ken in the SF2 anime. Thats more than a joke,cause Bison can fight Akuma face to face and Akuma fights Ryu and Ken while holding back. Cammy won against Juri in the tournament,Juri is similar strong as Bison. Viper can't handle Sakura without her gadgets and it doesn't looks like she was abel to handle Cammy the second time.(again in the tournament)
The SF4 animes were used, to create hype for newbies. Nothing more, they doesn't even make sence.

The SF2 anime wasn't even bad. It just need around 100% more Cammy. At least her scene was one of the best in the movie. Still think #1 Bossfight vs Bison #2 Cammys 2minutes of famous.

Who knows. I wait for the next parts of Assasins Fist. After the beginning,they will go for the first world warrior tournament. And it was Bisons tournament,so Cammy could probaly be in there,but as Killerbee,maybe as recon. Wouldn't be a bad idea in my eyes.

I was never really interested in Assassin's fist. I don't like Ryu. I'm not interested in his story.

Well it started with the time as Ryu and Ken trained under Gouken. It will follow the SF Storyliene. I don't know if they take care about the Alpha series,but after the first World Warrior tournament,was some years later the Second announced. And you know Cammy was in there,since it was her first appearence in a game.
I also don't like Ryu (or any other shoto) but they made a good work with Assasins Fist,it's realy good.

I have heard that Assassins is good. I wish they'd do something interesting with Cammy, seeing as how she's got the best backstory in the game, but somehow I doubt they will.

Cammy looks nice and swole, and good perspective here. I feel like I need to practice that kind of thing more.
Also, I know you're upset about Cammy, but in the SF II anime, it always pissed me off what happened to Guile. ALL THAT BUILD UP about getting revenge on BisonΒ for Charlie and Chun Li, and Guile just gets slapped aside into a tree in 5 seconds. It wasn't even a damn fight

Ah, thanks. I was trying to do a perspective drawing, which I haven't practiced in ages, but I think it didin't come out all that well...
I am thinking of going back to art school, if things get better and I have money again. But honestly, I'm not really expecting things to get better.
And I hear you about Guile, as well. You know, there are all these characters who have legitimate greviances against Bison: Chun, for her father, Guile, for Charlie, Cammy, for herself and the Dolls, T. Hawk, for his people, and it's going to be Ryu who takes him down in the end, because he's "destined to". The whole "chosen one" thing has been done to death. It should be the others who take on Bison. Ryu already has Akuma to deal with.
