Just to say- I LOVE FLAME PRINCESS! I did an extremely hasty piece just to experiment with her for a sec and was seriously sleep deprived! This is my first work featuring this feisty, red tempered lass and I think I will be able to do her more justice once I get some much needed sleep! Please enjoy the pic! Oh, yeah- and for all of my Grammar Nazis, I edited the text.Thanks for viewing,

I had a feeling for a while that Ward would be throwing us for another loop on this one.
The break up was something that I thought Pendleton Ward would end up doing, yet I am glad that we got to further explore into Flame Princess's past and unravel some of the mystery that hangs over the character. If you're like me then I know that you read the graphic novel, "Playing With Fire" and used this as a third party reference to FP's nature but in a large way it holds true. I love her courageousness and the fiery determination that gives FP a sense of being beyond the 'girlfriend' concept.
Short to say, I am a FP fan.
What I assume will eventually happen is that some how Finn is going to find himself together with Peebles by the time the show's finale airs.
This is, of course, unless Pendleton Ward has more tricks up his sleeve for us. We'll stay tuned to the end!

No problem; greatness deserves recognition.Β Omg yes I've read Playing With Fire like a billion times; its my favorite AT Graphic Novel. Should have been canan to the show! And aren't you excited for volume 2 (being released December 3rd)? But I'm glad she's discovering who she really is. That's what's important. Β But still. I learned that there is an upcoming episode called "Frost and Ice". Maybe she will make a comeback! I MUST KEEP THE HOPE ALIVE...... Β And thanks for getting back to me!Β

WHAT DID EVERYONE THINK OF THE BREAKUP??Β Β I was all like NOO WHY CAN'T YOU GUYS KEEP GOING OUT? HE SAID SORRY AND YOU FORGAVE HIM SO WHY CANT YOU GO BACK OUT??Β Β Β I was both very happy and also sad regarding the episode. Like, I'm really happy that the episode went deeper into FP's character and back story(I was waiting so long for that!!)Β Β And I'm glad she found her destiny as ruler of the Fire Kingdom and finally defeated and over threw her evil dad!!! YOU GO GIRL!!Β Β Β Β Β Β Β But why couldn't have she done those things AND remained Finn's GF? I was sooo sad! Plus I was ecstatic in regards to Flame Princess finally overstepping the bounds of being just "Finn's girlfriend' and becoming a more deep and important character who had her own life, problems, story, and ambitions without her whole use in the show revolving around her boyfriend--often the reason why some people see her character's purpose as being shallow in its dependency on Finn's need for her. Aka she only seemed to exist to play that role. I was very happy to see that Earth and Water changed all that. FP's search for truth in not only others but in herself and her trying to discover who she really is made this episode extra touching and that's what makes FP so lovable as a character--one who is able to be related to, with real problems.Β Β Β And OMG PB.Β Β Β 've never been one of those people who say just because you love FP you have to hate PB, but she was COMPLETELY UNLIKABLE in this episode. At first I thought it was nice that she was trying to help FP, but even that was for her OWN PURPOSES, not because she wanted to help someone get better for themselves.Β Β Β And the when FP and Cinnamon Bun went back to the Fire Kingdom and Finn was genuinely concerned, PB was just like, "Oh no, I wasted my precious time!!"Β Β Β Yeah, never mind that a young girl is about to be locked up for life, for all you know... Yeesh.Β Β What a selfish response. So yeah, she was being obnoxious. And I loved seeing FP as a baby!! Wasn't she cute, folks?Β Β And the way her dad treated her made me sad...Β Β so yeah, an emotional ride!! Top notch FP episode, dispite the depressing romantic material...

Β However I was as impressed as ever by her Flame Queen armor. Very powerful-- says "don't tick me off" while being really flametastically Flame Princess simultaniously--aka, it was "hot"-- see what I did there??Β Sorry. Lame...Β But anyway, that's the Fashion Section!

Isn't it ironic how the pretty pink princess is all about defending her friends and citizens, not giving a damn about romance, while the supposely "more badass" one with amazing fire powers has the only purpose of being a girlfriend to the main hero?

Pb is a stellar character- An easy 3rd place on my list of favorite characters, but I firmly believe that we have yet to see the rest of Fp's story. There is titanic potential for an amazing story arc involving the evil tendencies of her family, her dad and notably, herself. Ward has been throwing a good story since the second season and has pulled us a number of surprises and story twists. I am very certain that there will be more tongue catchers as the sixth season rolls in!

I like PB, She's a fun, energetic character, but also older and is probably the longest reigning princess of the new world. She works her ass of daily for her people and the candy kingdom, and as such can come off a little shallow or manipulative at times, but never in a way to intentionally harm someone else. Even when studying Flame Princess, she may have done so for her own benefit, but she also was not opposed to helping her with the results she gained from her research PB can and will compromise on these things, but she usually chooses to be more of a ruler than a friend. So at times it makes her seem selfish and yes, at times she is, and she also has a habit of WAY over reacting, but she's never intentionally causing anyone harm or malice. Besides its been shown in the past that she will go and leave the kingdom for her friends, if they really are in trouble or in need, and she'll save their asses no matter what, and apologizes if she makes mistakes or hurts them along the way. She's not perfect, but that's why I like her. She is a great person, but she has faults, and that is a rally good person/ role model to look up to.Β
Now, Flame princess is also really neat, but for different reasons. Looking from the most recent episode (go watch it if you haven't, I know a website if you don't know where to find it) to her entrance in the show at the end of season three, I really do like her. Her story, is that this is her first time out into the world, after being trapped away for so long, and she has to constantly fight her destiny of being evil, and actually find out who she wants to be. With the help of Finn especially, and their relationship, she really got to understand friendship, romance, trust, and how to make her own choices. Plus I love it when she gets pissed and her head goes all terrifying. She is a really fun, temperamental but very opinionated young lady, and for that I also think she serves as a great character and role model as well. She is not just the romantic interest, far from it, and I really enjoyed watching her grow in such a short time.
In short both are highly respectable characters, and for different reasons. Both fight for what they want/ will protect, but they're also very different in how they approach their problems. I actually think in time they could be great friends, but that's a far ways away, and right now I'm glad I'll never see this actual fight between them.

Alot of people love Bubblegum. Flame Princess is a mary sue with ,as far I know, the goals of a Disney princess. She just wants a prince while PB is more badass by defending her people.

PB is still the 3rd main character of the show and she's been involved since the pilot. I'll always love her so much more than a petty flame with emotional issues. She's so much braver in my opinion(bubblegum is a pretty soft and weak material but it doesn't stop her from rescuing others). I think it's so stupid when people hate on her solely on the reason that she rejected Finn -_- You can't just force her to love a boy who's 5 years younger than her. Plus, she's an intelligent princess with many responsibilities. I don't see FP caring for any of her citizens, in fact, she probably harms them with her fire powers.

The amazing thing about Ward's decision to turn to the FP arc is that we never saw it coming, but when Bonnibel rejected Finn for the last time in "Incindium," Flame Princess's match up with our hero was extremely well received almost immediately. Literally, I began to see shipping art within the hour of the episodes airing! Princess Bubblegum is one of my personal favorites in the show- heck, I have an autographed poster rolled away into a private collection from Hynden Walch! I am an avid Finn and Flame Princess supporter, but I do feel that it is not wise to bash against PB for rejecting Finn. As old as she is compared to Finn, I feel that Bubblegum respects the age gulf which exists between the two of them being that she is 18 and Finn is 14. If one recalls "Too Young" Princess Bubblegum's relationship with Finn becomes significantly more romantic. This may be likely because she was regressed to the age of 14- the same as Finn, yet when she returned to her real age of 18, the relationship between herself and Finn also returned to one of sole friendship which may be why Finn would not be able to approach PB romantically. To Bubblegum, I honestly would have to assume that the only thing standing between them is the age difference which she respects.
PB is an extremely admirable character who uses her smarts and sound judgement to guide her through obstacles throughout the show and remains a very fair friend with Finn and Jake.

I agree with you on Bubblegum. Till this day, FP still doesn't sit right with me. It seems that people only like her for shallow reasons(her cute design, she's made out fire, she's Finn's girlfriend) and her rabid fans bashing on Bonnie for not loving Finn romanticaly doesn't help either. Finn didn't even need to look at her for 5 minutes till he decided he was in love with her and just NEEDED to make her his girlfriend. And not even 3 episodes later they're suddenly dating? That's a plain lazy pair if you ask me. I'd like her more if she was considered an evil character one season longer to slowly built up their relationship, not just smash them together. I just see her as Finn's chaotic girlfriend and nothing more, it's hard to imagine her as a character who can stand alone like Marcy or PB. Every time she's shown there just has to be Finn near by because if he isn't, I imagine her staring at a corner with a blank face until she has contact with her boyfriend again. Then she's just generally nice and/or burns something.

It would be easy to draw a line of conflict regarding Flame Princess's character without digging into her past.
Β We realize that her father the Flame King is evil and of course he wants this for his daughter. After reading the new graphic novel, "Playing with Fire,"
we are able to see that the Flame Princess is actually quite a problem solver albeit a little impatient such as with the picture puzzle she encountered trying to rescue her boyfriend, yet we also get a look into her ability to fend for herself with out the assistance of Finn. Flame Princess has a nature that leans towards aggressive chaos with out having someone there to interject in her decision making. By her own admittance, Flame King wants her to be evil and many of her actions lead to violent results as she has a very short temper and violent impulses. After being locked away at Princess Bubblegum's advice, she naturally drew animosity towards her dad for his compliance with Bubblegum's decision which was done as a precaution against FP's volatile nature. Finn allows her to explore a brighter side of her self that until then she likely never knew existed and this new exposure leaves Flame Princess wanting to know more and be happy. Finn's emotions are in turn nurtured by the affection that Flame Princess gives to him because of a mutual relationship the two are having with each other.
What I particularly like about the two's relationship is that they are two sides of a different coin that complete each other with supplementing personalities that together make a very harmonious pairing.
Bubblegum has in the past and today remains for the most part a deep, close friend and mentor to Finn divided mainly by the difference in age, which Bubblegum respects.
It is Bonnibel's friendship that is extremely important here and she is always thinking in his best interests.
When she says that Finn is her hero, I do believe that she means it.
Bonnie and Flame Princess are both amazing characters and Ward definitely has more in store for us as fans and loyal watchers of his show.

hmmm, ok this is just my opinion, but's let's try to look at pb's POV, she is 18 years old, whil finn is 14, of course she will only think that finn's crush on her is just a typical normal crush and will soon go away, and i think most 18 years old teen will only see 14 years old as their friend or lil sis or bro, not a lover, but when pb says that finn is her hero, i think she means that finn IS her hero in a friendship way, besides, i think pb is a great character, she is a princess, and also a scientist and true, she often gets kidnapped by ice king, but she didn't get scared like a damsel in distress does, and i have never seen the episode where pb accidentally cut finn on the cheek, but i read it in the wiki that it was an accident, so she didn't mean it, and pb locked fp up because she knew that fp was unstable to high romance and that's why she locked fp up, for the sake of everyone, and besides, when fp is stabilized, pb didn't lock her up again did she? that means she will never 'imprison' someone for selfish desires or bad intention
and have you noticed that pairings are one of the major reasons that caused fandom wars? and character bashing to some characters just because they get in the way of their pairings?
