Description Another sketch made at Hero Bot Con.

This one got raffled away at the Th3d World panel I got to participate with. That was a first! lol.

The panel was Stuff of Legend creators Mike Raicht (Writer) and Charles Paul Wilson III (Artist), and finding Gossamyr writer David Rodriguez, and me. lol A video game concept artist, hanging out with a bunch of comic guys, speaking about comics. lol. Not out of place at alllllllllll. lol

Luckily they kept the questions more personal and focused on us as creators, rather than really specific comic stuff. So, I felt fairly comfortable opening my big goofy mouth. lol. Was still a giant fish out of water though.

Again, huge thanks to all the Hero Bot Con folks for taking such great care of us, and another huge thanks to the Th3rd World guys for letting me hang out again.

I like the pose and you've done a great job with the foreshortening. How'd you get to that point?

i'll either start a pose with loose rectangles or just lines where the bones should be. (keeping them really light, loose, and sketchy) either help getting the structure down in perspective. then i'll turn keep refining those shapes until they resemble what they're supposed to be a little better.

that, and lots of trial and error and practice.

Thank you. I've had difficulty in getting poses down in anything other than very flat perspectives (I feel I have pigeonholed myself after trying to get anatomically correct proportions). I may have to try it with line bases, since my usual shape bases never get me results when doing perspective.

well getting the anatomical proportions done is the hard part. once you know those, you can start pushing and pulling things to get more stylized or cartoony. keep with it, and i'm sure it'll start falling into place for you.
