Cuttlefish + Gas Mask = This?

This is just a weird idea I've been toying with. My first attempt went okay, but I'm quite fond of this second version! I added a gorgeous background from Malleni-Stock, and let it bleed into my artwork a little. I also couldn't resist adding a tiny lens flare--sorry if that's totally cheesy!

aw! its like a little steampunk cuttlefish! For this drawing i think it was clever to use a background done in a different media, the bleed was a good move. I find the lens flare a little distracting, it washes out the eye too much, however it gives the illusion of glare off the goggles, i wonder if there is a way to get this same effect without the wash out happening? Cuttlefish + Gas Mask = Win! I would love to see a series of these drawings!

I love this idea- cute and really neat looking at the same time. And the lens flare was used well. Subtle but effective.

Ha ha! I guess it could just tentacle onto your face, but that my not be very effective--you wouldn't breathe in the gas, but you wouldn't breathe either!

It looks great ! And the lens flare makes it 'pop'; it's subtle enough where you don't focus on it, yet if it wasn't there you'd be left feeling something was lacking I think. Great idea in my opinion! !!
