Description
I actually made this in ArcView (GIS Program) since I have access to it and thought it would be interesting to see what I could do in it. It is a vector based image.Related content

it has nice forms in it, the colors are a little classique what makes it a tad boring...but the firefly movement makes up for that in a way...

Hey, thanks for the comment here-refreshing. I guess the colors turned out like they did because I was going for a faded night time look...but I definitely see your point. I'll keep it in mind.

The concept of this piece really works well with the subject matter.. I may be reading this wrong, but what I'm getting is a whole night life- city lights thing, where u have the neon light representative structure goung around the moon i nthe shape of a light bulb.. Kind of like a 'positive' outtake on ight pollution, hehe. But that's cool, because I like night life anyway.
I second the Aliasing comment made above. This image looks more like something made in Photoshop, rather than a vector program. I use Illustrator for my vector art, and there's this option to save for web. Depending on how many colors there are, a gif, jpeg, or png work well to reserve vector smothness when rasterizing the image. If there's an option like that for the program that u use, try it out and see if it works. Other popular vector art programs include Freehand, and Corel, which are ones used in most professional offices.

Wow--art's always open to interpretation, right. I made it because I got the idea in my head-no agenda, but I like your take on it. I'm glad it can speak to someone.
Eventually I'll have access to Illustrator. For now, I think this one will stay how it is, unfortunately. At least I know not to start others in this program.

The idea is very interesting, but I think it needs a little more work. Anti-aliasing is definately a must here, without it, the image looks like something made in Paint.
I like how the fireflies' path is shown around the moon, etc.

You're right. I didn't notice that until you said it. I'll have to look into some export options. Right now, I'm kind of limited in software and obviously there's an export issue here.
I'm looking into the Inkscape program you mention using for .vp. from me to you (watching) . Is this a fairly intuitive program? I may ask you questions if I download. Eventually I will have Illustrator and life will be good.

Inkscape is great. It's very intuitive and very easy to learn how to use. It's completely free (GPL) . Since I started using it, I actually perfer it over Illustrator, even though some of the more advanced features are missing...
