1993 is set nineteen-ninety-free! Welcome to 1994, the unprecedented fifth year of Nineteen-Ninety-Something! We're deep into the good stuff now - I know I may sound biased, but screw it, the '90s were the best damn time to be a kid. In no small part because we had Nickelodeon at the absolute top of its game, positively chockablock with weird creative audience participation game shows. "Legends of the Hidden Temple" was unquestionably S-tier, a manic scramble through a misty ancient dungeon full of falling foam rocks, grabby temple guards, and physical challenges too large for the average child to fairly compete in. But wasn't it all worth it to get that $25 savings bond from Hershey's? Jenny and Eric sure seem to think so.

And hang on, nostalgia freaks, because this is only the tip of the 1994-shaped iceberg. This year in Nineteen-Ninety-Something is going to be massive, particularly for Joel and his rock band buddies. Remember how they wrapped up 1993 by signing to a major label? Now comes the fun part - executive meddling! Hopefully they can get everything straightened out before Woodstock '94 mudslides out of the gate, but it'll be a hell of a trip getting there. You can also expect to see Kevin joining in more of the main squad's adventures, bonding with them over their mutual love of video games; Lindsay and crew are still away at college, where Kristen may just find the love of her life; and speaking of love, don't you think it's high time Katy tore herself away from the Tiger Beat posters and found herself a boy who's not printed on paper? It may take some doing, but I think she'll get there eventually.

But it wouldn't be 1990S without a whole buttload of pop culture spoofs, and you better believe you're gonna get 'em - gimmes like Forrest Gump, The Lion King, Ace Ventura, and Pulp Fiction are all on the docket for sure, but I'm also planning to get extra nerdy this year. Final Fantasy VI, Ranma 1/2, Babylon 5, Mega Man X, Star Trek: Generations... and watch as the primitive screechy version of the Internet slowly begins to permeate the average American life. Didja know online multiplayer technically existed in '94? It sucked, but you'll see it! Stay buckled up, folks, 'cuz we're almost at the halfway point of the '90s - there's no turning back now!
