Description At long last, Forever 16 crosses from the 1990s into the 2000s. And with a new millennium comes a new Calvin and Hobbes-style half-page Sunday format!

By March 5, 2000, everybody was already sick of that Budweiser ad. It still didn't stop some idiots from screaming "WAZZUUUUP" at random intervals in a futile attempt to be funny. I'm sure you knew these people. You probably wanted to hit 'em too.

And I honestly thought it was because of how it was used in Scary Movie.

I love how you replicate the ongoing trend changes as the strips progress. I spy a Tommy Hilfiger trademark.

Indeed this is quite funny. But I didn't know really that the phase came from a Bud ad really. At first like one of the comments said I'd thought it was only in the first Scary Movie ummm movie. XD But yet I have seen the movie.

And there it is -- the "Wazzuuuuuup" strip. It was inevitable.

Probably the thing I remember most about that catch phrase was seeing an army drill instructor screaming that to some bad kids on the Sally Jesse Raphael show(Please don't judge me just because I watched that show).

I have a feeling Aaron won't learn his lesson. Odds are he's just going to use this variation instead

Hope Aaron learns his lesson, happily I don't and didn't know anyone who'd go WAZZUUUUP? any time, ever.

The-Victor-Catbox [2012-12-19 13:58:45 +0000 UTC]

I agree with you. The whole impact of the ad is just... ugh.

The only way I can describe this commercial is: "Reducing mature-minded people to infantiles just by uttering that phrase."

Just say "What's up?" and that's it. No need to go all "HURR HURR WAZZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!" on people. It's just... awkward.

Lord knows, I used to do the same when I first saw it, but then outgrew it quickly cuz' it was just plain stupid.

This strip you made here very well summarizes the irritation of that ad in a nutshell. And once again, the humor here is priceless!
