Description Another round of warm-up sketches for 's 12-page comic, this time featuring the gang from Phineas and Ferb. Dan Povenmire's drawing style has been a pretty big influence on me in the past few years, especially the way he draws faces, so naturally I have a lot of fun with these guys.

The only thing I know about this show is that the lead singer from Bowling for Soup does a cameo on occasion.

Bowling for Soup did the theme song, "Today is Gonna Be a Great Day", and appeared as themselves in the Season 2 episode "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo" performing the extended version. And once you hear this show's theme, trust me, it'll never ever leave your head.

I like phineas' expression here. I like the fan styles of Phineas and Ferb, but I still love the original.

~
Phineas: Is this romance or what?
Isabella: What.
Phineas: I said, Is this romance or-
Isabella: I heard you.

I'm still amazed at how Phineas and Ferb survived multiple shot-downs before finally being greenlit, which is now spearheading a reported comeback for The Disney Channel.

And to think, they were prepared to reject this show for a Chicken Little spinoff.

I'm still amazed that the show was being conceptualized all the way back in 1993. Heck, if it had been on then, it would still have the adult appeal that it has today.

How many times can I say "I love how you keep these characters on-model but still give them your own unique twist" before it gets old? As a Phineas and Ferb fan, I can clearly see it here. I love Phineas's expression, especially.

Yes, yes she is.

Not to mention, that the characters are so very well drawn.
The constructions, lines of action, poses, anything!

Sometimes I tryied to draw tittled characters in more wackier attitudes.
But I admit, it's kinda diffucult, because of these various shapes of heads, etc.

Nothingbutblankness In reply to ruffytoon [2012-12-11 20:09:58 +0000 UTC]

I agree.
I understand, it's hard to draw over the top poses with my own characters sometimes, but I often try my very best.

While I'm not that much into 'Phineus, and Ferb', those sketches look pretty good, and has could almost fit into the older, more wilder Disney style of character design.

Phineas' hair looks off to me, but that's probably just bias due to my ridiculous obsession with drawing him correctly.
Otherwise everyone looks perfect. The personal touch makes them look that much more lively.

2011 was like my banner year for P&F fandom, 'cause I watched the entirety of the first two-and-a-half seasons on Netflix. You can sort of see the influence creeping into my style if you look at the stuff I drew last year, especially my Forever 16 stuff.

I have seen those strips a bunch of times and I can see where you've absorbed Dan's style.

With your past interpretations of the Phineas and Ferb characters, you give them more three-dimensional qualities, which I think opens up the floodgates for more subtle expressions and gestures.

I especially like how you made the top of Isabella's head rounder, making the whole head more distinct than the generic half-circle.

I like the expression and dynamism (Sorry if I mispelled that word...) of Perry and Doof's poses.

Candace and Isa also have great faces, specially Candace as the same goes to Phineas and his usual excited face when he gets an idea.
