Description
Behold, the first full-color Sunday installment of "Maxwell Silver Hammer"! Today, a typical Sunday dinner is interrupted by Joel's separate agenda. (By the way, Tina's line in the fifth panel is something my mom always used to say to me and my sister when we were kids.) Enjoy!Related content

Calvin really could've used that line to deal with that issue.

Very nice work on the back and forth and the wonderful character style.
Couple crits... the font is a little hard to read and the different color word balloons seems a bit odd (maybe it's just decades of "white" balloons).

Thank you! To respond to your queries: colored speech balloons are a little trick I picked up from "Calvin and Hobbes". They add a little more color to panels that just have a flat white background, making them more eye-catching. If you look at most of Bill Watterson's Sunday strips, you'll see he uses this technique a lot.
And if you think this font is hard to read, you should see what I had before...

Lol, when I was a little kid, our whole family would always stop whatever we were doing to watch Diagnosis Murder, and ten years later, I still love the old reruns of Dick Van Dyke cruising down the halls of Community General Hospital on a razor scooter!

I can relate to this one. My father would ALWAYS drop everything at 5 o'clock to watch "The People's Court" back in the day. XD

Man... You need to submit this stuff to the big-boy papers out there XD These comics are more than perfect for them
Great job on this one too, colors really make it more lively

Great work on your comics so far. Your art seems to adapt and even compliment the comic page.
About the only thing I could suggest for the color comics would be use a slightly lighter color pallette (say the father's maroon shirt for something closer to scarlet), might make it a little less dull on the eyes.
Your humor seems spot on though with what would normally be in the comics section, and appeals to what I would call the 'introverted intellectual' crowd. Someone to relate to the social/media critic in all of us.
I hope what I said helps, or that it not too much of a bother ^_^;

Heehee! Simpsons 1 - Dr Phil 0
I really like this comic. For some reason, the style here reminds me of Bill Watterson's early "Calvin & Hobbes" Sunday Comics. Definately a keeper for me.

I was just thinking that!
I adore Calvin and Hobbes, and the way the first two panels are like their own mini-comic reminded of Watterson's style immediately! And with Calvin always wanting to watch TV while eating dinner...I was reminded of the one where his mother is saying he can't but then she gets up to talk on the phone to her friend...ah, classic!
anyway. I'm cool, I know. But yeah, like I said, I was thinking the same thing!
