Description
After being underwater for three straight pages, Jesse's finally come up for some much-needed air - and smack in the middle of the greatest Muppet movie ever made, no less! After reading the biography of Jim Henson, I learned just how much of a headache this scene was to shoot (literally, in Frank Oz's case, since he wound up with double ear infections), but I appreciate the effort all the more. If they hadn't kajiggered that doohickey that let Miss Piggy blow bubbles through her nose, young me might never have gained a preference for drawing my underwater characters doing the same thingRelated content

I think you'd better be prepared for one of her karate moves.

Never seen this movie, but I think I recognize this scene.

Anything experimental the Henson Company did has/is always bound to be great. I mean, around the same time as GMC,Β Big Bird jumped in a lake . It's actually been a while since any Muppet swam, hasn't it? They've been dry since Kermit's Swamp Years (blech).Β

Forgot about that one, excellent movie on it's own, classy sequence. They stop the action and swing into high art for a few minutes.

Also a fantasy/flashback scene thatβs the inspiration for βMuppet Babiesβ.
