My birthday is coming up and last year, I made myself a picture of a story I made up in High School. This year I did the same thing but with a series that I had invested way more time in and is much more important to me: this is SH!FT which for the most part very few people know about outside of my own friend circle. I did post some writings on it years ago but they don't even scratch the surface of how much was in this story. This mural, which contains like four years of compiled lore and 40 characters all in one shot, will be printed out as a poster and hung in my apartment as a reminder of the kind of imagination I had back like 8 years ago.

The basic story of SH!FT is that a rag-tag gang of rebels known as the Crimson Syndicate fight against an evil giga-corporation called Prizm on an abandoned world known as Planet Nameless. It is devoid of any remaining advanced civilizations and entirely covered in a worldwide landfill of metal scrap and masonry. But there is implied to be a great treasure somewhere here that Prizm is searching for, so the CS has to work to find it before they do.

If you ask me about literally any character in frame, I'll be able to give you a pretty decent amount of context for who they are and what they're doing here. But for now, I hope you enjoy the visual complexity and the unusual character designs devoid of context cause in my mind, I am the person most excited to see this piece come into existence because it's something I could have never been able to put together when I was still in High School.
