Backtracking a bit, these are two incarnations of my hero, J-Fighter Secticide. I originally thought up the character in the early 1990s, and the original concept is on the left. I originally codenamed him The Centipeded Man, and he was heavily inspired by Spider-Man 2099, and The Fury from the Image Comics 1963 title. The original's costume was made out of a futuristic lightweight fabric, and I originally had envisioned him in a dystopian cyberpunk environment. He had all of the standard insect hero powers (adhesion, enhanced strength, and a danger sense), but he was also mutated thanks to an unethical experiment with insect DNA, which is why he had venomous talons, and a somewhat ugly facial appearance.

When I began to work on the character again recently, he took on more of a tokusatsu spin, as displayed by the concept on the right, and this version was inspired by Spider-Man (of course), and the Super Inframan. I am very pleased with both versions and who knows? Maybe there will be a futuristic Blade Runner-type tale involving Secticide as I originally envisioned him.
