Description
Here's Misty from Pokemon. She's my favorite character in the series. I became a fan of hers when I was still ten. She's an impressive Water Pokemon Trainer and I just adore her fiery personality. I was feeling lively when I was making this wallpaper, kinda inspired too. I thought of making a very colorful wallpaper. At first, I thought of making rainbows and a city, but I decided to go random and create a background full of shapes and colors. I am quite satisfied with how it turned out. Misty just blends in with the colors. The custom shape tools were a big help for me here.Program: Photoshop CS3

Pretty good artwork of Misty, jczala. I also noticed youΒ have her in her Chronicles outfit.
You may already know this from our previous interactions, jczala, but for everyone else, I became a Misty fan around nine years old, maybe 10 at the latest, due to the episode Princess vs. Princess (or more accurately, the VHS tape Our Hero Meowth, which included the episode). More specifically, it was the scene where they announced the Queen of the Princess Festival Contest. Mom and I were watching the episode, and mom mentioned she hated how the episode depicted women as being loud, whiney and obnoxious, specifically citing the scene where the Fiorello Fangirls basically squealed like animals and trampled over Ash, Brock, Pikachu, Meowth, and James, plus their doing it again after the dolls were unveiled. Since Misty never behaved like that at all in the episode, heck, even for most of her appearance, I became very loyal to her. The loyalty was further solidified around 2002, when Mom gave a similar description of the Love Hina girls, with the addition of how the girls were also overly sexualized (Naru alone had a chest so large she'd need a wheelbarrow to get around as my parents put it), down to the same amount of disgust. I stopped watching PokΓ©mon around that time, due largely to that stupid KidsWB Sock Party Commercial that aired around the holidays (And contrary to what some people might claim, Johto's "fillers" played absolutely no role in my staying away from PokΓ©mon), and thus I didn't know Misty had been removed until a magazine showed May with Ash (it showed the first episodes of what was then-recently released AG), and I didn't realize the full implications of this until around May 2006 when I saw, or rather, heard May while waiting for a chest X-ray at the hospital (I couldn't bear to watch PokΓ©mon at the time due to fear of being called a baby thanks largely to how Arthur called DW's favorite show a baby show), where she sounded exactly like what Mom expressed disgust about the Hina stereotypes (that moniker is newly coined from Female Anime Stereotype, derived from the first two exposures to the stereotype: Princess vs. Princess [which had the setting being referred to in the Japanese version as "O-Hina Town" as well as Love Hina). It was that time, plus May's over-sexualized appearance (especially considering her being 10 years old) and all of that, that I became determined to bring Misty back, if for nothing else than to stop the Hina stereotype. That basically ended with Spring 2011 due to by bombing at Japanese (and the fact that I had a horrific College Professor who was such a militant feminist that she actually lied through her teeth about how women suffered until the 1960s despite a lot of evidence proving that isn't the case at all which drove me away from feminism, as well as learning that feminists were the reason why porn and things like the hina stereotypes are prevalent right now), and while I still wanted to bring Misty back, also wanting to make sure she actually pursues her goal instead of being forced into a gym, I also had to worry about college in the process. For the record, Dawn did show promise about not being a Hina stereotype, but that ended when she basically complained about bedhead and insulted Ash's hair in the process. Despite the horrific College semesters I had to endure since Spring 2011 and my giving up Feminism (heck, it even ruining my trust in Belle from Beauty and the Beast in the process as well), my loyalty to Misty never waivered, and in fact, because she struck a balance, my loyalty to her is even stronger than before. As soon as I was fully done with College, I resumed trying to bring Misty back in any way I could.
And I won't say she's a favorite, not because I don't love her, but because Toy Story's anti-favorites message left a huge impact on me as a kid. Had it not been for that, I would have stated that Misty was at the very least my favorite female character in the anime. It's a darn shame they removed her, especially considering the motivation for her removal in part as well as presumably why the whole girl-swapping is going on,Β according to ex-director Masamitsu Hidaka, basically amounted to "more eyecandy" (in other words, subjecting them to sexual fanservice), which is even worse since the girls exempting Bonnie are ten years old (and even Bonnie is at best eight). Frankly, they really should have kept Misty on the show and retired Team Rocket, especially when Hoenn's overall design basically would have allowed for her Water PokΓ©mon Master goal to flourish (Plus Team Aqua, Surskit, and the like), and besides which, Team Rocket didn't even come across as credible threats by AG, which ruined the point of their being antagonists.
