Description Acquired both as an experiment and as I was considering scratchbuilding this prototype, here is a Shapeways N Gauge L&Y 'Pug' 0-4-0 and chassis.

While cleaned and sanded (with more to come, no doubt), I've already hit a snag - using enamel paint as an undercoat it simply does not set, remaining tacky seemingly perpetually.  Am going to get some acrylic to seal it, but am open to any advice!

Edit: acrylic primer seems to be working well so far.

It's a TGW Koppel chassis; Japanese.

Not to insult, but you have cleaned it as resin already, right?  If you haven't, do so, and try the enamel again.   If that doesn't work, I'd try lacquer before bowing to acrylics.

Advice always welcome thanks.    I gave it a clean in soapy water, and post-stripping in white spirit, so would have thought would be ok by now (certainly no waxy feel etc).  Will look into lacquer thanks.
