Description Third and last part of my CG tutorial. This explains how I apply the shading and highlights after laying out the flats, and how I save a duplicate of the original file as a jpeg.

so this is how pros really make it? well, I use to shade and highlight with solid brushes, reducing the brightness by 20% of the original flat color

Well, this is the method I use anyway. To each his own I guess!

I also used to take a lighter shade of the color to be highlighted, but nowadays I just use white for all the highlights, using a very light pressure setting so I can slowly control the intensity. But I still use darker shades of the flats to brush in the shades like before.

I haven't tried paintshop, but I think it's a lot like photoshop anyway!

If you can set the blending options of the layers to multiply, and if you can alter the midtones, shadows and highlights, then people using paintshop should be able to follow this!

I'm glad you can still make sense of it! I was afraid I put in too much text and not enough illustrated examples!
