Description
This is a special unnumbered pic of Eri. I made this for a poster contest as a requirement for my Basic Jap program at school. It was a contest to make posters to promote the coming of the Japanese Studies Program (JSP) week. The theme was “Old and new Japan”, so this is just a half of my entry, the “new” side.Related content

This really captures the modern spirit of the country with the cell phone, crazy hairstyle and outfit and all.

Then fair is fair. I would want the best to win and if they worked harder and disserved it, so be it. (I find CGing a nightmare but that's because I've only just started learning and my art progam isn't very good.)
BTW, what was the other half of your entry?

It was the "old side", or a mirror image of this pose, only it's a deeper blue and shows a girl wearing a kimono and holding a fan intead of a cellphone! This is the "new side", and it features my original character, Eri.

Maybe. I'm guessing their was nothing else to compair it with. It looks like something they would comission a professional artist for. Maybe they felt others would get the wrong idea?

Maybe. Then again, traditional art takes a lot more work compared to CG art! And I DID see some entries more deserving!

Unfortunately, I didn't! ><
Maybe it's the CG art side by side with entries that are traditional art!
