Description
This is the mermaid boss of Inkwell Isle Three, Cala Maria. She is a large mermaid with an octopus for a "hairdo", a scar on her left arm, a seashell bra and an attractive design that is reminiscent of Betty Boop's mermaid cosplay. The fact that she uses sea creatures to attack the player and burps pirate ghosts out of her mouth makes her one of the most creative bosses in Cuphead. In her next phase, she turns into a gorgon and tries to turn you into stone, but in her third and final phase, you get to literally crush her to pieces. When you finally knock Ms. Maria out, one of the snakes in her "hair" plays the violin while mourning her decapitated head. That's cute and funny.
