Description Todays experiments are the foundation of the future...

I called this experiment because i have been pushing my limits and see how far i could go. I made a Lab tube some time ago...which after playing around the piece DNA saw the daylight...and as promised i said i would make a version which would be more than just a tube with some dna virus thingy in it....So here we go...

3 days messing around in C4D mainly to figure out what i really wanted...because in the concept i had a third machine infront of the tube but that became to busy.

Basically the scene was 8 minutes to render...and another 40 minutes to add the tech interfaces of was too lazy to make my own *blush*

Anyways...hope you like it and press download for full view....'s are welcome XD

That's really nice. I like whats in this tube more than your last ones.
Perfect floor to to bring it all together.
Nice lab machines too, but how'd you angle the brushes to make them look slanted and farther away?

JDLuxe In reply to MT-y [2009-03-12 22:37:12 +0000 UTC]

Thnx took me some days before i had a set up actually liked..making and chosing the right materials was a pain in the butt i think i have made like 40 materials and rendered the design 25 to 30 times..lol..

To get the tech brushes in the same angle as the surface is easy when you are in photoshop go to Edit --> Free Transform. with the use of the ctrl button you can alter the shape of the object in the layer. In this case my tech brushes.

That's a nifty little trick. I didn't know that before. Thanks for letting me know

JDLuxe In reply to MT-y [2009-03-13 09:40:43 +0000 UTC]

free transform is TEH TOOL lol which makes life a lot easier

MT-y In reply to JDLuxe [2009-03-14 04:06:25 +0000 UTC]

Yup, I went and took a closer look at it. And it definitely is more useful than rotating objects haha

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JDLuxe In reply to MT-y [2009-03-14 13:26:29 +0000 UTC]

its more fiddling around but you can get the best results with it. too bad when you convert it to a smart object some options are deactivated otherwise you could make them look crisp and sharp

MT-y In reply to JDLuxe [2009-03-14 14:52:32 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah. I couldn't figure out how to keep one end of the rectangle wider than the other, you know, for perspective?

JDLuxe In reply to MT-y [2009-03-15 12:23:27 +0000 UTC]

yeah i used to have that problem too...untill i was looking at some tutorial and saw the free transform tool...i always look at tutorials but never do them but even by just looking at them i learn something HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MT-y In reply to JDLuxe [2009-03-15 16:39:12 +0000 UTC]

Yup, that's an easy way to learn something quickly. I can't figure out how to change its overall shape, for perspective purposes, using free transform. But I easily could with just the transform tool.

JDLuxe In reply to MT-y [2009-03-15 19:25:01 +0000 UTC]

with free transform you need to use the shift/ctrl or alt button in combination with your mouse to either skew distort or give it perspective...without the use of one of those buttons you can rotate and do the other options you see in the transform options. Warp transform is cool too just try them out

MT-y In reply to JDLuxe [2009-03-15 22:06:25 +0000 UTC]

alright. Thanks for clarifying that for me. I'll try it out next time I get the chance.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JDLuxe In reply to MT-y [2009-03-15 22:10:13 +0000 UTC]

just try to them out i don't know which button combination is exactly which option. Since i just do it automatically and never look which options they actually are.
